What if any phyisical qualities do you look for in a Rishta.
As a male the main physical traits I look for:
Is a solid body mass index (meaning she’s proportional to her height ie not fat but not skinny either). It may seem shallow to pick this trait but if a person is unable to manage their own body then how will they manage with the added stress of marriage.
Minimal body hair, I’ve seen girls in my class with sideburns thicker than mine, I’ve seen hair so long it has begun to curl on the nuckles, I saw a girl wear a sari who has a bear of a belly. I don’t want to sound shallow but when a woman’s body hair rivials mine I feel emasculated
Although, we are taught by our parents to ignore the looks of the guys in arranged rishta setting, first things I notice in a guy is height and hair (is he bald, does he have thick hair etc).
Still, I have considered guys same height as mine and bald ones too. But I guess they didn't find me attractive and they might have been trying to find something in me which luckily I don't have :p

Some people have a hard time losing and putting on weight due to their genetics. NOT because they can't manage or take care of their body. I am a slim girl because of my genetics but I am physically very active and eat well. This is why superficial criterias sound very lame to me.
LOL, jeezzz, body hair are on a human body for a REASON. They serve a very profound biological function and yes, some do have more than others. Why should women have to go and shave their bodies to please men when body hair are such a natural thing :S. I understand that removal of body hair on certain areas ARE a religious obligation (due to cleanliness and hygeine) but I do not find it necessary to pluck out every little piece of hair on my face or my arms just so a guy can find me attractive. I can, however, lend him some of my bio books to increase his IQ.
Though i must say that i am all for one taking care of their self whether it be for their fitness or hygiene, however there could be various reasons for some people to nt be able to maintain that so we should give them the benefit of doubt instead of ridiculing them.
Men, on average, tend to be attracted to women who are shorter than they are, have a youthful appearance, and exhibit features such as a symmetrical face,[SUP][6]](Physical attractiveness - Wikipedia)[/SUP] full breasts, full lips, wide round firm buttocks and a low waist-hip ratio
If one does have a genetics problem one should still try to manage their body, unless it is a serious problem like short heart valves or severe metabolism problems its understandable. I see you question my IQ, but lack an understanding of what a healthy BMI is. You could be moderately chubby to very slim and still have a healthy BMI. Here’s a link to calculate ones BMI Calculate Your BMI - Standard BMI Calculator
I’m not talking about plucking every single hair on ones body, I’m talking about hair management, Men do pluck their eyebrows, shave hair on their necks, keep their head tidy, and manage body hair. This isn’t double standard its mutual understanding.
LOL so the OP should be willing to marry a fat and hairy girl even if he doesn’t find them attractive? We should give fat people the benefit of the doubt and marry them anyways?
I don’t see anything wrong with what the OP said. Physical appearance *is very *important.
lol, thanks for educating me on a healthy BMI. I would like to know however, if if you would even be willing to ask an obese or slim girl about her BMI or like your first post suggest would make a stereotypical assumption and move on. And that was my exact point, just because a woman is slim or obese DOES NOT IMPLY that she is not taking care of herself.
It would’ve been better for you to just state you like a certain appearance in a girl rather than criticizing why some women are fat, slim or hairy and why they can’t maintain themselves.
