PHP/MYSQL Gurus

I have some PHP/MYSQL programming experience and want to set-up a basic e-shop to begin with. I need a online tutorial/book to help me set-up the tables and in particular scripting for adding/removing items in basket and payment processing. Please suggest resources that I can use and are easy to follow.

Thanks and :jazak: in advance.

Why reinvent the wheel?

Why not use open source software like OSCommerce or Zencart or something and customize it according to your need?

Re: PHP/MYSQL Gurus

lol ... one of my frnd asked me same question 2day ...
i dont know ne online resource ... but u can defiantly find many online .......

Here you go free eCommerce solution with web 2.0 features.
What is Ubercart? | Ubercart

Great option I m playing with it now.

Another thing that I found was that my hosting company has an addon option to add an online store with wizard on how the pages will look, adding and deleting items and setting up carts. That way I didnt had to configure anything.

I did think of this, but I'm wanting to build upon my web programming and build the website according to how I want.

Trust me.. what you want has already been wanted before. Install XAMP on your machine, download OSCommerce and see what it comes with already. The out of the box OSCommerce is very light and needs some contributions available. It will give you plenty of oppurtunities to excersie and brush up your skills.

I understand that but when you take on an opensource product and improve it, customize it, you can get help from their communities and maybe create something that will help the entire internet while your programming skills develop further as well.

You never know, they may like the kind of improvements you make to the software... popularity ke chances hain es tarha. :D
