Do photographers usually edit their photos prior to printing before putting the photos on a CD to provide to the client?
Im referring to adjusting the brightness and contrast to make your subjects stand out, and make the colors look viberant like a movie still?
I’m looking for a good photographer in the Tri-State area?
Does anyone have suggestions?
Sorry Mods, I couldnt find a section for photography.
Re: Photography
Photography is included in RKS. Rangon Ka Shajjar because Photography is counted under Arts - Creativity.
If you are talking about Wedding Photographers then they don't only adjust the brightness and contrast, they do other kinds of effects on the photographs too. Airbrushing, using texture effects like tiling, using film effects like vivid or glamour etc.
That all is part of post production of the raw images that they shoot. Hope that answers it.
Re: Photography
Yes that was exactly what I was asking!! I am looking for a good photographer, and I want the pictures to look bright, and air brushed, but all the portfolios I looked through did not have what I was looking for.
Does anyone have recommendations for a good Desi Photographer in the Tri-State area?
Re: Photography
Okay what exactly do you mean by bright? Do you have a photo in example? Do you mean something like this? This is not a wedding photography example but I just want to know if it what you are looking for.

Re: Photography
That is very good, but the girls look so dark, like there needs to be more light on them... You know what I mean? Let me find an example.
Re: Photography
Ok here is an example… I want something very bright and viberant like the picture on the left. Not dull and dark, like the picture on the right.

she means she is dark skinned, and that being dark is considered bad and the epitome in southasia. so she'd want the pictures to come out fair, so she can conform to the jahil "gora is great" mentality.
Re: Photography
Dr. Lulworth, I was not referring to being lighter in skintone, I was referring to pointing more light on the subject, as I am already fair. I want bright viberant colors. But I am sure that is beyond your comprehension. Jumping to conclusions, putting words in other people's mouth, and making negative comments towards other are all traits of being jahil. You fit the description perfectly. Have a nice day. :)
Re: Photography
i think if you talk to the photographer and discuss what you want they'll understand .... u can even ask them to take a sample photo of you and show you how it can turn out.....
:) gud luck
Re: Photography
I think the way your photographs will turn out will also depend on the locations of your wedding and timing. If your valima or something is at night and there is less light then obviously there would be a difference then lets say if you were to pose in the day time in the sun light. This is why taking night photos in any kind of genre is tricky.
I think like BH said you should talk to a well known photographer and tell him that you need bright and vivid photographs. Ask him to show you his portfolio of past works he has done. Sorry him or her. Also ask him this.
"When you shoot photographs of people at night in a wedding or something, what equipment do you use?!"
He should name you different lenses, different camera bodies perhaps, he should also tell you about different flashes. Ask him what flash he uses with his camera and which camera he uses. Report back here.
It is highly important you see the kind of pictures he takes at night. That is going to tell you whether he can take bright and vivid photographs of you on the wedding or not.
Apart from that, I would say tell your MUA to make your makeup bright and vibrant too. :) Like for instance use gloss lipstick with sheen instead of matte. Matte absorbs light. Gloss reflects light. That would give a difference in the way you turn out in the photographs too.
Re: Photography
Thanks you have been very helpful!!!
