Hi
I am wondering if you could give me some help/info on photo and/or video people based in the NorthWest of England. I have rang a couple of people already …Photography by Daanish , OneThousand Words Photography .
Does anyone have any reviews of these or any other recommended ones?
Also I am a bit of a novice at the wedding planning and just wondering what sort of questions should I be asking, am I supposed to haggle, and how much should I be expecting to pay for two day coverage (mehndi/reception)?
Many thanks.
CB
Re: Photographers/Videographers in NW England
here are some which I’ve come across but not had any personal experiences with:
Monir Ali: http://www.facebook.com/pages/monir-ali-photography/124670284213738
Rehan Siddique: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Rehan-Siddique-Photography/166007096773753

Things you should ask, what will they give you at the end of it all? A CD with all your photos so you can print off yourself? A photobook? Does the price include a pre-wedding shoot (if you want one)? How soon after the event will you get your photos?
Re: Photographers/Videographers in NW England
Also, how many hours are they going to cover? If the event runs over, what is their hourly rate? How long will post-production take? If they are giving you a photobook like fashionblogger mentioned, how many pictures are they going to give you? Will they be filming in HD? (they usually do, but it's good to ask) How many copies of the film will they give you? You should haggle, especially if it's a two day event. Oh, and ask them if they are charging for travel. Also, once you have narrowed down who want, do check out their pictures/work/wedding film. When I was getting married, I am really glad I did this as I was sure I wanted to go for this particular videographer, but after seeing their wedding coverage I was not impressed.
Good luck x
Re: Photographers/Videographers in NW England
Thank you for the info and advice guys.
If anyone else has any recommended photo/video people I would really appreciate it.
Re: Photographers/Videographers in NW England
Definitely haggle!! some photographers will drop their prices by 500!! even the BIG BIG names - never agree to what they say and play hard ball when it comes to prices - seriously.
No idea when your wedding is but if its off season than you can definitely really push in terms of prices, remember these people are freelancers and can never afford to turn away work if they’re free that day. Especially if that’s what they do full time.
i think for 2 days even the biggest of names you should be okay paying 1500-2000 for CD only (again this depends on time of year) I am sure you can get cheaper but i am referring to good reputable photographers
for video in the North Amor are great http://www.amormediaproductions.co.uk/ have a look at their promos, they’ve been put together very well - BUT they very expensive too. I am sure there are good cheaper videographers but you need to put in some leg work to see whos style you like.
Re: Photographers/Videographers in NW England
Thanks for the info.We originally planned for a Christmas wedding but logistics meant it didn't happen, so now it's planned for the end of October, which I think is off-peak?
Re: Photographers/Videographers in NW England
we used Rehan Siddique last year for my brothers, wedding, he was pretty good, but half way two other photographers took over, which i assume was his assistants?? something i have learnt since, always know or ask what will in inc in the price couple shoot, outdoor pics etc. i also looked into /www.aishaphotography.com i liked her work too x
