Photo Booth

I was watching Rich Bride Poor Bride the other day, and someone had rented a photo booth for their wedding. Basically, instead of just signing the guest book, guests take their pictures in the photo booth (some props are also provided by the rental company), and when the pictures come out (2 copies are printed, one for the person/people taking the pics, and one for the guest book) they glue the extra copy into the guest book and write a message along with it.

Do you guys think Pakistani people here (Canada) would enjoy that, or even participate in something like that? I know the younger crowd would probably be into it, but Im not sure how the uncles and aunties would react to it.

My fiance suggested having it at the Mehndi, but not everyone invited to the reception is invited to the Mehndi.

Re: Photo Booth

I am thinking of having photo booth at my wedding inshallah..
I went to a desi wedding and they had it with all the props and it was so much fun....
its starting from 900 for 4 hours here in the states...

Re: Photo Booth

they can be so much fun! if you have a lot of young people, it can really be a good time for everyone! otherwise, you can also have someone take pics of guests with a Polaroid as they enter the hall. once the Polaroid develops, you just stick it into the guest book right then! that way you get guest messages and a picture of everyone!

Re: Photo Booth

the polaroid is a good idea as well, I will keep that in mind. It will probably also be more economical as well.

I just loved the whole photo booth idea, especially with the props. There are going to be a lot of young people there, and you never know, sometimes the aunties and uncles get way more into it than anyone else!

Re: Photo Booth

You can set up your own photobooth in coordination with your photogs- you can rent props from costume shops or buy them from the $ store. Lay them out on the table and get a backdrop put up- I'm sure your decorator will be able to do that.

Re: Photo Booth

^ I recently saw a wedding where they used the photobooth - soooo much fun!! Totally recommend it ... I'm thinking of it for my reception (depending on the cost ofcourse)

My friend recommended what SGC said --> to have people take polaroids for the guest book

I say gooo for it Saima :)

Re: Photo Booth

im curious...

Re: Photo Booth

i love the idea of a photo booth and m surely gonna try it for my wedding.. so yea go for it :)

Re: Photo Booth

thanks guys! The more I think about it, and discuss with you guys, the more I am into this idea or the polaroid idea! You guys are awesome!

Re: Photo Booth

We had it at my friend’s wedding and it worked out really well. I went for these funky red glasses and winked bc the whole sarah palin thing was going on at the time lol. We pasted the bottom two in the book and my friend and I signed well wishes next to it. She moved away and when she’s lonely she says she loves to open that book up and laugh at our silly props and messages filled with love and good memories.

Her parents also borrowed the cowboy hats and walked in with them on for the reception it was funny and gave everyone a texan southern welcome to the reception  They finally could have a good time bc all the wedding stuff was over with.

The guests all agreed we enjoyed it a lot and desis love going home with something extra esp when it’s a picture of themselves so a Polaroid may not fully work. I could see aunties wanting to take a pic and then take it home as a souvenir or something rather than putting it where it belongs.

here’s a pic of the table showing off the props…

Re: Photo Booth

^^thats awesome! thanks so much for sharing!

Re: Photo Booth

ok, just wanted to give you all an update. I have contacted a few vendors for the Photo Booth, and I have some meetings scheduled next week. The average cost for a photobooth, with props, attendant, set up, tear down, delivery, guest book (plus markers and pens to write in the guest book), and 3-5 hours service is about $1200. I am most likely going with this place in Markham called Foto Fun Booth.

I am so excited! It looks like a riot!

Re: Photo Booth

I had it at the wedding and EVERYONE loved it. Even the older people really got into it. I say go for it. You won't be disappointed

Re: Photo Booth

^^thanks for letting me know! I will be putting my deposit down this week! Its so exciting. I was worried about the older people not getting involved, but if you say that even they got into it, then Im going for it!!!

Re: Photo Booth

AH! I always wanted to have a booth at my wedding, I'll most probably get married in lahore so I wonder whether they'd have something in Pakistan. But awesome plan!

Re: Photo Booth

hey everyone! Just wanted to let you all know that I went ahead and rented the photobooth for my wedding, and it was A HIT!!! Young and old both totally enjoyed it!! It was totally worth the money that I spent! and in the end I got an amazing guestbook with pictures of all my guests with their blessings.

If you want something unique at your wedding, a photobooth is a really good idea!
