I have never used cruise control on my car cuz i have this phobia that even though i will hit the brake pedal, the cruise will not disengage and i might hit the car ahead.
Could this happen or is my phobia baseless?

Baseless, coz no matter what speed ur cruising at, even if Allah forbid, the cruise fails, the brakes are a lot stronger than the automatic accelerator, so u'll definitely stop da car...!!!
Dude, cars 12-16 years old imported from US & Germany in Dubai, have their cruise controls in xcellent condition. These things are never compromised on, specially the switches.

I have a same kind of problem... i have never used cruise control on my car....i dont know if its a phobia but may be cuz im not used to it....

my ford once did get stuck with cruise and i had to put the car in neutral to stop hitting the car in front of me....
technology is never to be trusted.... :p
then again it was stupid of me to use cruise in bahrain where a traffic light or a roundabout is boun to appear in a couple of miles anyway....
