PHIR YUN LOVE HUA (2002) was directed by Rubina Ashraf and this serial made a reasonable impact. Rubina was smart to cast two top models of Pakistan in main leads…and this family story attracted a large
viewership, both at home & abroad. Others in cast included; Vaneeza Ahmad (Vinny), Khalid Ahmed, Zakia Aapa, Adnan Siddiqui, Shehryar Zaidi, Rahat Kazmi’s able son ALI Kazmi, Nyla Jaffery, Amna Hussain, Nadia Hussain, Rizwana Khan (Khala of Huma..who created
a stir in showbiz through her performance extra-ordinaire in KARAVAN…later married Zeba Bakhtiar’s brother and is currently settled in Milwaukee-USA), Farida Shabbir Jan and yours truly.
This pic was taken by me during the shoot of a mehendi ceremony
scene (of Vinny marrying Adnan)
FROM LEFT: NADIA HUSSAIN - VANEEZA & AMNA HUSSAIN
(Nadia is now married to my nephew Atif, Vinny is my next door neighbor at BON VISTA and Amna..who did extremely well as Adnan’s wife in MEHENDI, is my neighbor..next building..happily married to Uzair of AAG TV) http://www.paklinks.com/gs/imagehosting/thumb_5475746cbc5674762d.jpg
Raju uncle, Isn’t it time to start writing your memoir , Ap ko mashwara dayna kuch suraaj ko chiraaag dika.nay lag baagh hai , but I do feel that you enjoying writing ( I assume its in Blood) .
I say and request what ever you are writing here on GS , do save a copy of them , so if ever in life you would like to publish your experiences , these yokes will be handy enough !
Btw i would love to buy a copy and i will , thatz my promise !
Thank you for your kind words----and now that you bought up this subject, I would like to extend a ‘teaser’ that I am on 325th page of my book in process on my tremendous, exciting and mind boggling experiences of SHOWBIZ well mixed with my PROFESSION (Banking) and the book carries everything PAKISTAN saw on SHOWBIZ (TV MEDIA) since the commencement of first ever (closed circuit) telecast of TV at the Pakistan International Fair (1961) at Karachi by NIPPON ELECTRIC COMPANY of Japan on ‘trial basis’ in which too…I played a single scene role of a young school lad…and it was then we first ever–saw the cartoon “FELIX THE CAT”…on those B&W 21" monitors PHILIPS (Pakistan) had provided as complimentary–temporarily to some known people in Karachi–and my Dad was amongst them.
The FIRST ever announcers of PTV on its first telecast on 27th November-1964 from LAHORE..were Tariq Aziz and Kunwal Naseer and for KARACHI on 27th Nov-1967…were RAHAT SAEED & GHAZALA YASMIN.
I expect the book to have at least 400 pages with an approx of some 200 photos of plays, series, serials, talk shows etc…telecast from 1964 till 2004. I have maintained them all and PTV has been literally after me to lend them…but its a ‘no no’ for the time being.
The name of the book is under consideration..but I am getting the counseling of my Dad here…on that…plus Akhtar Vaqar Azim and Aslam Azhar have been the sources to check out on any info…I may be missing.
UFFF… it’s not just easy to write a book…I can tell you that! Bohat dimagh khapana parrta hai aur subb se barra role, aisi kitabon ke leeay…“memory”… ka hota hai !
OK…here’s an interesting pic of NADIA KHAN with me & Asad Malik during the recording of Hasina Moin’s serial “PAL DO PAL” directed by late Mohsin Ali (privately) and produced by Moinur Rahman (who owns the Cineplex at Seaview..these days..thronged with people vying for the tickets of KKL) in which Nadia made her debut as my daughter—and since that serial she calls me “Raju Daddy”… http://www.paklinks.com/gs/imagehosting/thumb_5475746cbd0fcaa59f.jpg
i remember watching PYLH on dvd years ago, it was an awsome drama.
btw. why has vinnie quit coming in dramas now, she was a good actress, is she getting married.
and who is your nephew atif, does he come in any dramas.
As Vinny told me–when she backed out of NIMRA’s role on “WILCO” (played by Zee Q then) “Raju Mamoon, aik tow mein marr jaoungi parr garmiyon mein serial recordings nahin karoungi ! :)”
Therefore–past four months she has been traveling to Europe & America and recently returned from the PAK IND DAY function organized by our High Commissioner at UK..Maliha Lodhi…where MSR’s GEO played a major role in mustering huge celebrities of Pakistan. I was invited but my bank needed me more during those days of mid-August hence I couldn’t manage a leave. HADIQA…very dear & close to me..was also there…
On marraige----Vinny is not serious..yet!
ATIF is a Stock Market Broker..and doing wonderful there. He has his own firm. No interest in showbiz at all…and as Nadia says; “Chacha..please… one is enough!” A great couple they are! with two offsprings.
Speaking of HADIQA KIANI…above, check out this picture–she specially had taken when she held a function at PC-Karachi on adopting a BOSNIAN child through Bilquis Edhi. Her adopted son’s name is NAD-E-ALI…and he is very cute…boy. On my left is LAIQA HASAN..the beauty parlor lady and the daughter of the famous Paki-Test Cricket of yesteryears-----VAQAR HASAN…who married the charming & beautiful… lady JAMILA RAZZAK..one of the first heroines of Pak Film Industry of late fifties..her classic being “FAISLA” opposite to Yusuf Khan (The BUDDAH Gujjar! now)…of Lahore. http://www.paklinks.com/gs/imagehosting/thumb_5475746cbdabfd3fd1.jpg
i thought the baby was an earthquake survivor (but lost his parents)?
INCORRECT! the Goverment of Pakistan took a very firm decision that no child..even grown up to the age of 8..leave alone newly born...termed as the survivor of the 05 earthquake...can be adopted by anyone..and if any floutation was reported...a life jail sentence would be decided as an action simplicitor.
Moreover--I saw the child myself...and he was hardly a week old...and Bilquis Edhi also said that he is not from AK.
