people who carry the baggage of other life negative experiences around are painful to be around.
the over-time accumulated effect of such emotional & thoughts’ burden is destructive of any relationhsip, or anythig happy coming out of the works of the person who carries them.
& it hurts so much, that a time comes when the trust from such people’s capacity to flouish as someone hopeful, strong & fair in positive outlook on life, day-to-day as well as long term, is reduced to nothing.
how do we learn to live with such an environment at work or in personal or familial relations?
Re: philosophy of life - effects of one's felt emotions and thoughts
I guess as far as work is concerned one CAN learn to leave everything at workplace and not carry them back at home, moreover, continued support to emotionally exhausted gives us sense of fllfilment.
But if such emotions are involved in personal and family relations then it must be very difficult to deal with.
Re: philosophy of life - effects of one's felt emotions and thoughts
thanks for ur comments, IconoClast.
u went right at the source of what i aimed to reflect on in this thread.
what u said, makes a lot of sense. balance is absolutely needed and so is a sense of prioritizing as well as dealing with issues at where & when they originated & not carrying them or their effect into other areas of ones' lives.
i see it happening in people our age, who normally won't take a respite in idle or health risking habits by be-numbing oneself, yet they have reached the maximum amount of stretch in their personalities, and now they want OUT.
young adults have this uncertainty as well as a need for a snap-out, from others who are genuinely helping and helpful.
i've learnt that giving space to people while they are in that state of indecision or lack of confidence over their ability to have control over their lives, arer best left alone sometimes, and not probed any further.
sometimes, all we need after the caring advice is offered, is to leave the person alone.
may we all be wise enough to crack it at all, without damaging ourselves.
amen.

Re: philosophy of life - effects of one's felt emotions and thoughts
The key quality we lack is acceptance. If we took all our joys as well as sorrows with some acceptance then we would not be carrying the baggage around.
Learn from your experience, accept it and move on. I know easier said than done...but something to achieve towards...perhaps

No offence, but you are showing your age.
No one has perfect surroundings unless you write a novel and create/imagine your own world

I am happy that I could inspire you....sometimes it is difficult to inspire oneself...unless it is said to someone else....So in inspiring you, I have inspired myself.
