Philosophy of Fasting

Re: Philosophy of Fasting

Fasting is good for your health & it helps in detoxing your system as long as you don't end up overeating after you break your fast. Btw, fasting is not limited to Islam, but many faiths as well, including Hinduism (from what I remember).

Re: Philosophy of Fasting

One day fast doesn't effect us compairing to contineously fasting b'coz its effects our attitude due to change in time schedule, staying in hunger and thirst. We unintentionally show angers to other but sometime its too late to recognize that. So one must think about his/her act or saying and surely he or she will feel that how he or she controlled him/herself.

In other hand humbleness is more increased due to fasting.

Re: Philosophy of Fasting

there is not much philosphy involved in fasting. some people long time ago came up with this concept. the purpose was probably to save on already scarce food. or to torture the body, as it has been the custom in many of the old religions.
