Has anyone got this? any reviews from anyone, there seems to be good reviews in general on some of the boards, but i was wondereing if any us asian ladies have tried it? and what have been the results? Im considering buying it, but dont want to spend lots of money if nots worth it

Re: Philips Lumea

I was considering buying it too! But its not available here in the USA -____- Bummer.
But here is a link to a popular beauty blogger Huda. She seems to love it! She isn’t asian but she is middle eastern and she complains about being hairy.lol

be wary of bloggers and reviews, these people are usually paid to write them and they never discuss permanency… like how do the area look 6 months after stopping using the device.

Re: Philips Lumea

I deff agree with you, but she's been around longer than other bloggers and is a bit more...trusted than other bloggers, Im sure she will do a follow up after she has used it long enough. But I totally see what you are trying to say. I guess in the end it is your own responsibility ad what works for others might not work for some one else.

Re: Philips Lumea

I discuss this briefly in the laser thread. IPL is not comparable to true Laser and home based IPLs… they are too weak to do anything.

Proper treatments with proper machines are not child’s play and they don’t cost figures like £60,000 for the fun of it. A home based device, which is safe to use by a consumer is never going to produce the energy needed for permanent hair removal.

Found this:
"However it’s not a “permanent” solution. Instead, it’s something you need to use every 2 weeks to prevent hair growth. If you stop, the hair comes back. Unlike more intensive treatments, Lumea doesn’t claim to kill the hair root - rather it forces the follicle into a resting phase so that it doesn’t produce hair. "

The first comment is worth reading.

Re: Philips Lumea

Which is the OTHER reason I opted against it, that its only hair reduction method…however i still kinda wanted to get it.. the reviews helped and now Im glad I didn’t end up getting it!

Re: Philips Lumea

thanks stoppit!

Re: Philips Lumea

No probs.

I make the same recommendation to everyone - save up some money, find a reputable clinic with a good make of Laser, follow the guidelines in my thread for treatment spacing and Laser can give you great permanent results on coarse, dark hair areas like underarms, bikini and lower legs. It's totally worth the money.
