Are there on Philharmonic or Symphony orchestras based in Pakistan?

noe that I know of... but you could assemble all musicians save the larger horns section... you'd only get Shadi band or Army Band veterans there..

add to it the fact that majority musicians in Pakistan never learn to sheet read music..

PA.. there are orchestras there in Pak? right? I remember in the days of “Battle of the Bands” in Alhamra (mid-to-late 80’s) they invite orchestras to perform either solo or with other bands. But, yes, they are not classical per se.

And for classical, we have separate ustaads, who’d sing you to sleep with their harmonium, tabla and pur-riyaaz awaaz :k:

Fret wanted to know if anything existed on the lines of Philharmonic or a Symphony... i doubt if Pakistan ever had one... The Army has a band, but then again, nothing on the lines of a Symphony Orchestra.

What you're talking about Faisal are the group of session musicians that accompany bands or solo performers plaing live.
