Very good to see a "parha likha" topic being discussed. Muniya, Lucid is a very knowledgeable and helpful person and inshallah his expert advice will help you immensely. Just last semester, I was serving in a hiring committee for full-time accounting faculty, and you'd be surprised to know how adamant the accounting department was to hire a CPA versus Phd. So not to discourage you from Phd, but Master's, a little part-time teaching experience, and a CPA may actually take you a long way if you wish to teach accounting, specially in a College setting (as opposed to university, where Phd may be a requirement).
On another note, please don't waste your time on schools such as Capella, Walden, Phoenix etc. Since your major (accounting) is under the big umbrella of business majors, you DEFINITELY want an AACSB accredited school.
