Re: PhD in Sociology after MBA..

If you have some work experience in social services & can convince them of your aptitude, flair in the field, I dont see why you should have any problem for enrolling in a phD programme in sociology in any good european universities.

really?? are u sure about it?? i dun require background in sociology?

Re: PhD in Sociology after MBA..

Some serious work experience & passion for social services should be 'background' enough. All you would need is convincing power after that to get enrolled. You belong to a country where social workers have much more demand than the developed countries. It also depends on which university you're considering.

Re: PhD in Sociology after MBA..

MBA and PhD are two different species. PhD is NOT a professional qualification where you gain expertise in a particular field.

A PhD in sociology would provide you with training in research methods, philosophy and logic rather than training IN sociology.

If you are passionate enough and can come up with a good proposal to arouse a professor's interest in the country you want, you should be able to do it. The universities in Europe normally require a good research proposal for admission into a PhD programme as opposed to universities in north america where they emphasize expertise and relevant academic qualifications.
