I was only born in a pind, but I grew up in the city 
As for wearing dhoti, I only wore it 3 times:

When I was like 4 or 5. I used to see my abbu and chachas wearing dhoti while sleeping at night. I wanted to be a macho man like them so I insisted that I will sleep in dhoti as well. Well I did, and I woke up with lightening flashing at my face the next morning. Well, I thought it was lightening but it was camera flashes because my uncles were taking my pics because my dhoti was all open when I woke up and the birds could see my things

In my elementary school, I used to take part in the dramas and plays and I was representing the province Punjab. Therefore I had to wear a “laacha”.

When I was about 14, my shalwar’s paaenchey were ripped up so I had to ask someone (I think my aunt) to sew it. I temporarily wore a dhote while she sew it
