It was very famous joint in Lahore. I do not know if it still exists. I had nan and paa-a in Peshawar too , i do not know the name they were havenly. For some reason there is no famous paya joint from Karachi. Is there any ? Why ?
By the way I can never forget the paa-ya which wife of one of my close friend from Karachi used to make , then they move to Saudi Arabia.

During 90's They opened an outlet near Masjid-e-Baitul Mukarram in Gulshan-e-Iqbal , karachi...
didnt work well for them...

I think it may still exist. I know it existed at least in June '05. My cousin took us there...it was a very crappy looking small joint...and i later found out i think in some "red Light" area....but whatever....their payaa were amazing! Plus they give u these naan with like sesame seeds, pipint hot n fresh....i think there were like only a handful of booths u can actually sit at...and it was weird as it was me, hubby n my cousin...but the food was good. :)

The reason for failure was very simple. They do not come any close to the payas made at home by many Karachites.
I ate Phajja paya in Lahore in 1991. That was too watery. Payas cooked in Karachi homes is very thick (sticky) esp the bhoori bhans kay payee.
