Sashay Shantay! From striking a pose on the catwalk to strolling down the fashion promenade, after walking out of a fabulously modish year, we look forward to another fashionably chic 2010 ahead of us. Our world of fashion hit the road with a brilliant start when the Pakistan Fashion Design Council joined hands with Sunsilk to initiate an extremely exhilarating project for the first time in Pakistan. In a city full of colors, culture and fanatical fashion, this debut scheme titled as the “PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week” was a downright magnificent success. It lasted nearly four days, commencing on the 16th of February and lasted till the 19th of February, 2010.

From sensational alluring vogue on the ramp and charismatic showstoppers to being spotted on the red carpet, the event brought out the love of fashion from all over the nation. Over 32 designers from all over Pakistan participated on a platform where upcoming designers were given the golden opportunity to stage their collection with the prestigious fashion connoisseurs of the nation. Their diverse assortment of styles of the ‘ethnic east’ to styles of the ‘contemporary west’ complimented with a fusion of the two created a strikingly dramatic performance.

It may have been overflowing with enthralling surprises, salacious glamour, punk rock thrills and oodles of hot and juicy fashionistas and was nothing less than expected; but sorry to say there were some disappointments along the way. Many of our most celebrated and admired designers didn’t seem to give us their best shot. To name a few, the collections by Hajra Hayat, Hoorain, Shaiyanne Malik and Sobia Nazir were disheartening while better was expected from high ranking personalities like Rehana Saigol, Kamiar Rokni, Saman Arif of Nayna and Maheen Kardar of Karma. Bravo to those who won our hearts, and better luck next time to the ones who did not. We look forward to seeing your sensational talents and works in the time to come.

**Music of the Body - Body Focus Museum **

Nothing can describe this collection better than the name itself. While it is only called the Body Focus Museum, it literally focuses on the curvature and shape of the body as a result of its superior cuts and defined tailoring. The first thought that comes to mind is, “how does she do it?” With perfectly flowing and silky silhouettes from shades of grey to black, Iman Ahmed has unraveled the beauty and sensuality of a woman’s body most exotically, singing along with the music of the body.
