Its becoming a trend where go to relatives house and they have a pet dog who will come and lick you jeans or shoes. Everyone knows its un-Islamic to have dogs live with you.
Now if u rnt frndly with their dog… they will mind it. If u step back and tell them can you get this dog away, they will say “Bob is very frndly he doesnt hurt you” And all i can say is well am scared even of chiwawas. I guess all you can do is stop visitng your relatives, any better solutions ?

stop visiting....I get that people can be afraid of dogs or think they're unclean or whatever....so u dont have to go to someones house who has one
but i find it so annoying when a person will cross the street just to avoid a dog on the street...now thats just stupid

I have to go to a meal in a week and they have 2 big pet dogs. yikes
I'm just not used to of dog BO in UK's small carpeted houses. oh well, can't say no, can I.

Keep a pepper spray with you and use it when the dogs try to get near you.

It's not hard to call ahead and ask them to keep the dog in another room when you visit. If they can't accomodate you, then they aren't worth your time. On another note, I have a little 4 pound chihuahua and he is my sweet baby. I'm Muslim, and I love dogs. :)

I've got a chihuahua as well and when aunties come round he normally just stays upstairs.. My last dog was v.placid so my parents were happy to keep him with the guests, he would just sit quietly and watch what was going on, never licked or went over to anyone unless he was called over but this one I have now is really excitable and understandably some aunties get freaked out by it which just makes the situation 10x worse as it freaks him out as well.*. *

Honestly, if they don't do anything about the dog, just go home and do ghusl 69 times and hand wash every inch of your clothes.

The dogs I know don't smell....yeh kis qisam key dogs hain? Dogs are the most faithful and loving pets and Islam does allow you to keep a guard dog as long as he isn't inside your home. We are to care for them and provide them with shelter and food. So well if these friends you visit have dogs inside their home, you may just want to tell them you're uncomfortable around dogs and would it be possible for them to keep them elsewhere while you're visiting..

I have been in such a situation about twice and it really put me off. People dont have manners, they think its their pet and everyone has to be friendly or loving towards them but guess what? i dont like pets so get awayyyyy! Argh.
