I saw this petition a few days back.

To be honest you are asking a bit too much.

Lets see.
The only national religious holiday in US is christmas. Jews which hold quite a big ratio in population and the biggest stakeholder the in capitalistic economy of this country dont have a national holiday on their day either. Yes, whoever is religious does celebrate accordingly so should muslims.
And as far the school days off are concerned, we’ve already started having this in NYC and i’m sure other cities are moving in that direction too, depends on how conservative their legislating body is.
So in my opinion its a bit over-ambitious for 2.6 million muslims out of 319 million population.

schools re closed for jewish holidays and all parking rules are suspended. dont shias and sunnis celebrate eid on the same day?
