I saw this petition a few days back.
To be honest you are asking a bit too much.
Lets see.
The only national religious holiday in US is christmas. Jews which hold quite a big ratio in population and the biggest stakeholder the in capitalistic economy of this country dont have a national holiday on their day either. Yes, whoever is religious does celebrate accordingly so should muslims.
And as far the school days off are concerned, we've already started having this in NYC and i'm sure other cities are moving in that direction too, depends on how conservative their legislating body is.
So in my opinion its a bit over-ambitious for 2.6 million muslims out of 319 million population.

How can they declare a particular day as EID holiday, with many who still depend on new moon sighting announcement. This would never happen unless we go with calculated method of new moon and I am ok with it.

In Pakistan, they have 2-3 "official eid holidays" while people disappear for 1 week. Now, people might compare it to christmas but no, it isn't a muslim country.
The more fun was a petition wanting to get at least 500 signatures to ban Oktoberfest in Germany? as it offends muslims especially the new refugees from syria that happen to be muslim as well. Though, I am suspect about this one as change.org is about matters in the US.

Load of crap. Why should it be a holiday? Go to a Muslim country if u want official holidays. From turning every building into a low level mosque, from preaching on the streets and demanding halal why don't you just go and live in Saudia. Oh wait not that easy because they hate Pakistanis. well never mind let's just turn this country into a sxxxhole as well.
No offence. If. Muslim people were well educated smart and clean and a integral part of society that's great. But unfortunately we are not.

schools re closed for jewish holidays and all parking rules are suspended. dont shias and sunnis celebrate eid on the same day?

Sure there is. Former mayor of Chicago has said to the muslim community here that he'll approve an official holiday for the City, but you guys have to decide which day is Eid going to be. He said he can't just approve a holiday on tentative days due to process that is followed.
And, we have Eid observed on two different days across north America. This would never get implemented unless the thought process on new moon changes.

You know the best part of this country? The diversity in culture and the freedom it gives to everyone. Now if you dont like any request, you can absolutely turn it down but asking them to leave the country...Seriously??
