PETA and other activists protest SEA WORLD captivity of killer whales

Today’s WSJ

Folks arriving in sand Diego airport r greeted with posters asking them not to visit sea world if they love animals. The Orcas r used to hunting for food. And captivity is against their natural instincts - no surprise here.

Sea world has come up with usual denial - painting the activists as extremists.

What is your opinion?

Who has time to care for animals if were too busy killing each other?

(I hope you understand my point).

No I really don’t.

Re: PETA and other activists protest SEA WORLD captivity of killer whales

As much as I admire the great work many wildlife agencies are doing the ground reality is as humans we don’t care/ignore the suffering of fellow humans what chance do animals have in receiving attention?

I remember watching a documentary on SeaWorld and was utterly disgusted by their treatment of the wildlife.

Hopefully, now you do.

@Southie I came across an American documentary on this a while back. It was called Blackfish and goes pretty in depth with this matter.

Re: PETA and other activists protest SEA WORLD captivity of killer whales

Seaworld will deny of course, they make millions if not billions from those poor animals. whales are not for human entertainment, they are beautiful majestic creatures who deserve to be in the open oceans which is their natural habitat.

Will check it out, Mezh-gone.

PS. I can almost imagine a character by that name in The Kite Runner being addressed as such.
