PESSIMISM

R u a pessimistic person, or r u always positive? I never used to be a pessimist and was never as negative as I am today, things made me this way, but do u think being positive helps??
I have always found that whenever I have always tried being positive abt anything im always badly dissapointed, its like i jinx it :frowning:
But i have becum extremely negative abt EVERYTHING, which isnt a gud thing, and am negative abt things that i have no reason to be negative abt lol, but they turn out ok

HOw should I not be such a negative person, and despair abt everything??

Thnx for any responses

Re: PESSIMISM

Think positive and solve your problems head on instead of brushing them under the carpet :)

Share your problems with friends and get their feedback before reaching any conclusion.

Re: PESSIMISM

Easy. By being positive about everything. Don’t despair ,think positive even about the results which were not positive from your perspective.
Consider it as learning experience, cost of doing business, things could have been worse , something good will turn out from this disappointment etc, etc.
It took you time to get to the point of negativity you are , it will take time to get out of it , so don’t despair if you have to struggle to think positive.
I read a book long time ago it is a good book order it and read it . This book has some good pointers , tips and tricks.
The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale

Re: PESSIMISM

I used to be like that too. I felt that at times when I tried hard to think positive and to always be happy things just went wrong for me. This kind of thins Tweetypie takes alot alot of patience and stamina. YOU can change. Its not as hard as it sounds. It will take time but I promise you you will see a change if you are committed.

Re: PESSIMISM

I am at one of the lowest points in my life....yet I feel hopeful. How? Because I try not to focus on what I dont have or have lost. Instead I try to be grateful for what I do have. There is always some good aspects in your life....instead of ignoring that focus on them and value them. I also live by the mantra "Things could be worse" and that keeps me going.

Re: PESSIMISM

I second that. Once I read a story about Shaikh Saadi. Writer of Gulistan and Bostan famous persian books about moral lessons.
So it goes like this.
Once he was going somewhere he did not have shoes on his feet and the hot dirt road was burning his feet , he looked up to sky and said ya Allah I do not have shoes on my feet.
He walked a few more steps and saw a man , both his legs were missing and he was dragging himselft on hot desert sand , Shaikh Saadi went into sajda immediately and started thanking Allah for giving him both the legs and feet.
