There were some picture on Urban Pakistan website, but the site was hacked and still under repair. Check this out when you have time:

Women can walk the street without any problem. Dress code for women should be preferably Pakistani. Covering of head and face is not necessary though.

I must include that the atmosphere in Peshawar changed a lot after the Afghan war. Lots of Afghanis migrated to Pakistan and the more affluent ones got settled in Peshawar. They still hold a major portion of the city’s business. The more affluent Afghanis are quiet liberal. That has slowly transformed Peshawar as well.

A (claimed) state-of-the-art shopping mail is near completion in the city, dubbed as the biggest shopping mall in Asia. I doubt that but it is quiet big. We have plenty of other malls as well. People of other parts of the country come in numbers to buy stuff from markets in Peshawar. There are big cloth markets in the city which have quality cloth of different origin much cheaper than what is available in other parts of the country.

Compared to rest of the country, women get more respect. People will leave their seats in the buses for women and old people. Being a women, one can do work lot more faster than males, e.g., if you are going to pay your utility bill you do not need to stay in que to pay the bill. You can directly go to the front of the line and people will make space for you.

I am away from home for the moment but when I shall get back home I should be able to post a few pictures of the city.
