Peshawar Nights is the English translation of a dialogue amongst several Sunni sholars and a 31 year-old Shi’a scholar, Abdu’l-Fani Muhammad al-Musawi Sultanu’l-Wa’izin, of Shiraz, Iran, held over a period of ten nights in Peshawar, India, beginning on 27 January 1927. The dialogues were a model of MUTUAL RESPECT and DECORUM. A condition of the dialogue was that only sources acceptable to both sects would be cited. The dialogue was held in Farsi, commonly understood in the city of Peshawar. The transcript, made by four reporters and published in the newspapers daily, was published in book form in Teheran and soon became a classic authority in the East. The present work is based on the fourth edition, published in Teheran in 1971, the year i n which Sultanu’l-Wa’izin died at the age of 75. http://al-islam.org/peshawar/

1) In the Peshawar Night - the shia (Jaferi or 12'er)are calling all other shia sects "deviants" or in other words claiming that shia 12'ers are the true shia and every other shia is merely using the shia name and are not shia at all. Really? Very, VERY Interesting!
The word shi'a is derived from shi'a-e-Ali. Which means Friend or Party of Ali. So within Shi'a there are a number of groups. Some are clearly deviant (e.g. Nusari's - who claimed Imam Ali AS was God) and others have there own philospohies. I belong to the 12'er shi'as (i.e. those who believe in twelve imamas the first being Imam Ali AS and the last being Imam Mahdi AS, we are also know as Ashna Ashari or Ja'afery.)
The philosophy of Ashna Ashari shi'a is presented at the sites i give reference to.

1) If Shia 12'er can have their own interpretations surrounding their 12 Imams then based on what logic do you deny the Alawis/Nussariyas the same previlege?
2) The website that you refer to may be shia 12'er but that doesn't give them any rights in de-faming other shia or sunnis, for that matter.

In the same sense if Sunni's have there interpretations how can they deny anyone else the same right??
The intention is to be able to put our view across. You will find many books there that are discussions between Shia's (12'ers) and Sunni's with an eye to reaching the truth.
With regards defamation. Everyone has there way of putting things across. If one is arguing from a Shi'a point of view he will naturally think the others are wrong and vice versa. I try as much as possible to keep an open mind when reading any books whether they be Shi'a or Sunni authors and there are very knowledgable people all around who are more than willing to guide. However I can not control how others wish to approach their discussions.

I agree that everyone has their way of putting things across that is why we have 'sects or firqas' but can you name me another shia sect that defames you i.e. the shia 12'er in its web-site.
In Peshawar Nights it also states that the shia 12'ers have more in common with the sunnis than the other shias! I agree - both, the shia jafris or 12'ers share the ignominous commonality of "trashing other sects" under the delusion that each is the only 'rightly guided one'.
On another thread there was a saying quoted from Tirmidi that ‘The Muslim Ummah will divide into 73 sects of which only one will go to heaven’. So there is only one right path and in trying to prove that theirs is it people do get passionate. Not everyone can be as logical as you!!!
But here is a thought…the shi’a imam’s on numerous ccassions have promised to help their shi’a on the day of judgement. Has anyone else made such a claim? Anyone that is that is as noble as these, whose wisdom, knowedge, truthfulness, etc the whole muslim world acknowledges?
