I wud've slapped that person even if it meant risking my job! I even slapped a maulvi for "accidently" brushing his hand against me! (and NO it wasn't an accident!) Why be quiet and take it? It gives perverts the impression that u're "ok" with it!

hahahaha! u can learn some from me... just the other day i was cursin this pathan guy who was followin me! even hearin 2-3 gaaliyan didnt help and he continued then i started using some real bad lang not on in his face but while passing him!!! arrghhh i can kill them!

My market is small, and being a professional I can't risk my career because someone slighted me.
I will not work with that person again, problem solved.

u have to be more specific because of u dont specify what u mean by somewhere else, this demand may have counterproductive effects.
actually what can u do, I have relayed the story of when last time I was in pakistanit was ramadan and one ba resh maulana sahab with a pagar and all were staring at begum while she had a kurta shalwaar and a chaddar, we both lauged and I said mashaAllah, roza theek chal raha hai bhai sahab ka. Look either you confront them or mock em or make fun of them.
sure its extremely disrespectful, and one needs to say something then and to that person. or report that person, in US there are harassment laws including sexual harassment, heck, I have to take teh damn harassment training course every couple of years at work because I manage people . Now if someone is not going to take advantage of the protection offered by law then that is their choice.
okay so serious advise. matinee Siren, u need to go and complain against the person, hopefully this way he will stop and not harass other women in future. if other women before yo had complained maybe you would not have been harassed. You chose not to do it, because you felt it would have acreer impact, and probably others made teh same choice before you. so when the next girl gets harassed its because this person is a jackass, and because ppl who should hae put an end tp it chose not to.
PS: Phats, just a correction, even women who are wearing low cuts should not be harassed. That is a very twisted view.
Offcourse even women who are not wearing anything shouldnt be harassed. Whether you want to admit it or not, women who are covered are generally more respected and not harassed and the reason they are covered is because they do not want that attention. On the other hand, if you are half naked you might be sending the wrong signals, again not saying that they deserve what they are getting but thats how it works.
I agree though we should do something about it especially in the US but in Pakistan its a whole diff story. But I think matinee's situation is a little different and she is not able to just complain about this guy but just wanted to vent here.
And there might be some losers here who get a hint that this kind of attention is not wanted nor appreciated.

Simple, if someone at a workplace does such a thing, it calls for a sexual harassment lawsuit.
However, if someone does such a thing outside, i.e. making comments, that's covered under freedom of speech. Fortunately, not too many people make comments like that and if they do, one can use the same freedom of speech and give them a piece of their mind, so that they think twice before popping such remarks again.
The more the females let it happen and let it go..the more the perverts will keep on doing. If u make a scene out of it then and there.. he'd think twice before trying to act cute again.
