I have the copy of the book in front of me (arrived today) and on page 237, Chapter 23, Manhunt, it does mention this in the first paragraph
*Those who habitually accuse us of “not doing enough” in the war on terror should simply ask the CIA how much prize money it has paid to the government of Pakistan"
*Blitzer asked him about this particular sentence if the CIA had paid the govt of Pakistany any such money and Mush said he would like to revise it if it indeed had written “govt of Pakistan” because he said the head prize money was paid to the citizen or people of Pakistan who’s help led to the arrest of the wanted MAToos. The govt of Pakistan didnt receive any such dinero. So it is supposed to be a typo in the book

^ I think u Indians (incl. some of our own failed politicians) are just jealous of all the attention that he's been recently getting in the US. Musharraf is fluent in English and uses idioms easily. A very smart man who's incredibly media savvy. He's a publicist's dream. The media spins Pakistan in a different light, for them we are a violent and intolerant nation. Musharraf talks sense and thus sheds a positive light on us.
Growing up in Islamabad in the 80s and 90s, atleast I can tell you that our democratically elected leaders did jack **** for the country. I'm not saying Musharraf is a saint, but he is clearly doing a better job than Bhutto and Sharif.
