Know of an action plan (for ladies, keep ur Mase handy)
Walk fast until you've reached your vehicle.
Keep keys handy.
Have Emergency numbers saved on the speed dial. (i.e. 911 hotkeyed to 1 on cell phone, etc.)
i want to add...
walk with a friend if at all possible.
our campus has police patrols/campus escorts...all you have to do is call them and they will pick you up and take you to your on campus destination (ie dorm, car, another building etc)
Use your voice as a weapon. Don't be ashamed or embarrassed to yell out loud. Don't be afraid to swear or cuss loudly, this may in itself prevent an attack as it may shock the assailant.
