Personal religious experience

Do you experience religion in different phases, or is it always very religious/little religious in your case?

I had a phase of being very religious, almost fanatic, but not entirely, alhamdulilah, then I had a phase of less religious. It’s never the same with me. Sometimes I am more busy with religion and religious topics, other times I’m less occupied with religion.

What does that say about my religious feelings, I wonder sometimes.

Peace notorious

There are two main thoughts on this the Maturidi and the 'Ashari ... the former hold that 'iman is fixed and the only thing that wavers is the taqwa. That the belief is there and conviction of the truth has always been there, but the level of piety varies at times.
The latter opinion is that 'iman can vary that a disbeliever can become a believer and vice-versa.

Re: Personal religious experience

I think it happens with all people. There will be times when you feel your relationship with the creator is at its strongest and you will week by week happily obey the commands of Allah to please him. Alhamdulilah! these are the good days, and then you have the bad ones when the nafs wins over :(. I think what is important here is that even when you are progressing through the bad patches at the least you dont give up your salaah, acknowledge and admit your sins and then pray for guidance.

I believe that the Prophet SAWS even told his followers that the heart is always changing...one day your faith is strong and you feel like more of a practicing Muslim and then other days you waver.

Ys brthr i agree wd u ....but i persnally experienced a solution fr thz ...... at night b4r sleeping jst think of all gud wrk u have done since morning which must have pleased Allah(SAT) n thn all da lies or mistakes or sins u commited since morning which must have displeased Allah(SAT)......thn jst think which one is heavier eithr gud deeds or bad deeds.... i sure next day u wont feel like repeating those mistakes which we regrtted previous night.
