Lets assume that long kameezain weren’t in fashion. What would you prefer long shirts or short ones? I was in Pak 2 years ago and I saw a girl with a very small kameez. It looked cheap. I still love the short shirt ( a decent length) and patiala shalwar combo but I cant wear them as they aint in fashion anymore ![]()
Re: Personal preference
my shortest have been upto an inch below the knee . i love the long shirts though and i think i wore longer ones even during the time short shirts were 'in'
Re: Personal preference
I m all for wearing wat one wants n is comfortable with but i do think it kinda looks odd when u wear something that is totally out of fashion. But it also depends on how u care it?! If i wanted to wear a short shirt when the long kameezes r inn, i wud go ahead with it but make such a lovely thing that people wud wanna defy the trend ;)
:D
Re: Personal preference
i loved short shirts and patialas ..for me they were the cutest. i dont mind long shirts, but not everybody can carry them off well.. esp the frock and A line shirts :)
Re: Personal preference
I like both! i would prefer a fashion era where you can switch between the two, wear a short shirt one day and a long one the next.
I don't think short shirts look cheap but long ones are definitely more covered and easier to carry for everyone.
However I was never a fan of the patiala shalwar the made me look stout and shorted than I was. Short shirts with straight pants flatter my figure, so I guess it all depends on your body type and what you can carry with grace and confidence.
Re: Personal preference
do like short shirt with patyala shalwars but these long shirts also give trendy look.
I love the long kameez's with straight pants/trousers.
I would love to stick to longer lengths/sleeves forever if I can. Girls kind’a take short shirts too seriously and wear embarrassingly minuscule ones proudly in public. ![]()
Re: Personal preference
I prefer moderate lenght shirts the ones that come down to your knees. I don't like the ridiculously long ones or super short ones. Fashion keeps changing all the time so I prefer getting a length that I can wear for a longer time, especially if the fabric is expensive. I got alot of clothes made for my upcoming wedding and most of them are knee length because I want to wear it for years to come.
Re: Personal preference
I haven't worn either.. mine are always just regular shalwar kameez.. I don't know.. Maybe I live in the US and hardly ever go back to Pak..
Re: Personal preference
i have always loved long kamizes. dont care much for short kamizes, unless theyre being worn with straight fitting trousers.
I STILL prefer and STILL wear short kameezes....im just not able to get over them!!!
i do get lots of remarks from my friends and cousins - : tumhay indian bannay ka bara showk hai haan?" ufff!!!
i have madea a few long kameezes, but i just don feel comfortable in it dunno why...but i like it when i see other ppl wearing them

Re: Personal preference
Most of time i wear western clothes. But when i do wear shalwar kamez, i like short kameze, not to short, a bit below the knee. Im just not into long kameze, dont feel comfortable in them. Pluss im not that tall, i dont think long kameze looks good on me:@:. I really dont care about whats in fashion, fashion changes all the time. I just wear whatever i feel comfortable in :@:
Re: Personal preference
i wore short kameez a few times, but i dont really like them , or they dont suit me. it just looks wrong on me lol
I want to try long kameez but that wont look good with shalwar i guess, so have to wait until i can get trousers.. But i usually have them just a little above the knees, and thats the perfect length for me.
