if enough signs in your life are indicating that you have been in the wrong or wronged, will your nature change comfortably, and yourself too, as your philosophy of life changes? or would you still be bound by the stillness, the predictive certainty that you will exactly be who you are, no matter what happens?
parameters: only things and events or personal encounters which will affect your own independent individual life, not of you parents or siblings or anyone else who you associate with.

I completely agree with Sara above, a person can only change if he/she realises that he/she needs to change. And it is not only when you are wrong that you need to change, there are some aspects of your personality that you might like to change. However, it is not easy and it takes time to change your own personality. It is gradual and repeated process of evaluation and implementation and re-evaluation.
Like for my self, I have changed a lot after stepping into my professional life. I do analyse my personality regularly and see how can I improve myself. It takes a while to improve but I can see that things have changed in me.

I have been through upheavals in my life. I look back and I know I have changed in many ways to sort of "ride the tide", but my basic nature is more or less the same. Temporarily, as a defence mechanism, my "recently acquired" personality traits may come up but I think I will always be the same person.

*Somethings about people does change e.g. ppl learn to be less impulsive, and more calm/subdued, sometimes even more magnanimous towards their ownself and others. Its a part of the evolution process- especially if one is more spiritually inclined
so hanji, some basic nature of a person does change.

Inner nature is determined by genes, so basically genetically progrmmed aspects of your personality can not changed.
But as sure as you can gain or drop 40 pounds in a year which would alter your physical appearance and health...you can do same with your brain , and therefore seriously change your "mind".
If you watch TV 4hours a day, or instead read rocket science during same amount of time, I bet your feeling about life won't be same...and your reaction won't be either.
Moreover the way you react and feel about anything depend on your inner health, not only brain health, but whole body health: all tensions, either muscular, fatigue, pain from injury or surgery, can alter your mind.
Keep in mind that everything you do has an impact on your feelings and reactions, i'm not considering Others as per Dushwari requirement.
When you decide any single action that makes up your lifestyle, it has a HUGE impact on yourself, so changing lifestyle could change deeply change you.
That's why it may helpfull to undedrstand which parameters of your lifestyle are the most impacting those things about you that should be changed in order to mold a better you. Once spotted, alter your lifestyle accordingly, and you'll see positive changes;)

furthering your argument is this illusion that you have about genes being responsible for everything.
losing weight or gaining weight, changing your mind in a year or more or less, is not the big thing.
because it is only for you.
what is a big thing, is that through your change, you begin to be consistent and trustworthy within your own personality and self. that through your own sense of being reliable, you dont remain a parasite on others nor do you make them your alibis for not being trustworthy. while at the same time, your deep wish is to have yourself be the center of the world. and all the people who you seek pity from.
just a thought. strong and honest, caring and forthright women and men know better than assuaging their guilt ridden minds and hearts, by projecting that onto others.

^^Nature can be changed, not only for your own self but for the generations to come, there is an absolute antidote. You may not believe but it exists..........I have strong faith in my own conviction.

I am not sure if I really slew long way from the topic. Predominant part of , so called, personal nature is what we inherited from our parents and is what we are going to pass on to our next generation. I will rather not rain on to your parade , if it a matter of concern in any manner. Thanks

true. personalities have a lot to do with how much of an internal dialog has kept with her/ himself in order to check oneself for correcting one's own nature.
could it be that people dont realize how they come off to others, when they do their self analysis and rub it on the face of someone who in fact meant well for the given person, while s/he were deep in their own wrong analysis of the self and also others'?
and if they dont realize, then the best thing is to leave them alone to figure our their own delibrate mistake?

btw if you believe some people are parasites, you have too many bad emotions inside, and you definitly should seek some professional advices to help you learn how to deal with these negative emotions
