Personal info publicly available

How much of your personal information is publicly available (on GS or on social media)?

And do you think your online image represents how you interact in real life?

Met a couple of people from GS and I don’t think they are much different from how they are online.

Re: Personal info publicly available

Nothing aside from basic info and a couple of pics.

Aye needless to say.

Re: Personal info publicly available

^My info is available on facebook but then again I only have friends and family in the list. I think basic info is available on GS.

Re: Personal info publicly available

My personal information is pretty non-existent these days. I don't think most people are aware how easy it is to now find personal information about someone esp if they are on social sites. The internet has become ridiculously dangerous with regards to not keeping your personal information safe.

Hmm. I believe how I behave online is how I am offline. Unless of course I am trolling.. but that's only on tuesdays.

Re: Personal info publicly available

Nothing out there that can be a serious issue.. Its a controlled information so you can maintain your privacy.

Besides, for US residents big daddy is always watching no matter what you hide :chai:

Re: Personal info publicly available

Even the electoral roll is now online, a stalker with just your name could find out where you live. That kinda stuff didn’t exist 10yrs ago.

And the US is even worse with regards to privacy, probably easier to obtain more information like phone numbers etc through white pages.

Re: Personal info publicly available

I have met loads people from GS and most of them are different from how they are online and according to many of them I was not like what they expected.

Re: Personal info publicly available

Quite a bit of info. While I can keep Facebook etc private, and even linkedin limited. Publications etc have name and title, sites like block shopper have info on when and how much did I buy my house for. I think the "right to be forgotten" is going to be more and more important in future.
