Been working on it for a long time now. Almost a semester on and off. I think i`ll work on the coding and content over the summer session and make it go live around fall (yes im that lazy!)

So what do you guys think ? Critique this image and dont be afraid to blast it to bits! I like constructive critisizm.

hello..

nice job dear..

First of all,
the size of the interface is heavy as i can see it is exceeding 80k.. and when u will add DHTML, code , and more images in the center it might exceed 100K

i think ive alrady seen few sites, quite near to it..anyways

Suggestion
1 : on the left navigation bar, try using light gray grid, and each link should be displayed in a line, perhaps it might look better

2: try embedding Bolts,. yeah metallic bolts on corners, and junctions..

well these are for the timebeing..

and can tell u more, if u post what areu going to keep in the center …

P.S : implmenting this interface in Flash wil be much more easier, and productive, u can do much interactive styles etc..

Flames : Im not much concerned about the website size. Its a portfolio site, and as such geared towards high bandwidth users and users who dont mind waiting a bit to see my graphical skills

1- Yes good idea about the grid. I`ll try it. I had a hard time coming up with anything in the nav area…

2- Bolts = a lot of work but still a good idea.

3- I dunno flash as yet
