Re: Persian For Western Pakistan
hmmm, modern day pushtoon speaks a lot urdu (learnt at school) and enlish (learnt at school, and highly used in university)...they mix so much urdu and english in their language that they have sometimes to ask their grandparents to translate some words...
i am learning pashto and i'm surprised that some of the pashto words found in dictionary are not even used by my pashtoon friends who instead use either englih or urdu....
so your idea seems..hmmm, not so realistic
ok so now ideoligically, urdu is official language of pakistan, so any pakistanese needs to know it...if balochistan and NWFP were to adopt persian instead...they would automatically tilt towards iran and afghanistan...instead of pakistan identity which is urdu united (ahem)...this is very sensible issue...it touches the base of pakistan iddentity...
