I have really thick asian hair, I often get compliments, but only when it is tamed!! It is really difficult to look after, and I just keep it straigtened. Naturally, it is wavy, but not the nice luscious waves, when it is wet they look fine, but once dry its a nightmare! And what’s worse, when it starts to rain, it goes back to its terrible state, so Im always worrying when theres drizzle falling on my hair.
I have started thinking about a perm, has anyone tried this, or would you recommend it? Would it look nice on my type of hair.
What other suggestions do people have.. I just want it to look nice all the time, not turn into a frizzball when I leave my house!!!
Dont go per perming. You hair will break a lot and turn drier. If your hair texture is good, they will look nice, be it straight or wavy. So maintain a healthy diet, oil them and use some nice masks. For frizz, use moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. And anti frizz serum should do the trick for you.
omg please dont perm your hair darling!! i know how you feel i have curly hair myself, by now i know how to handle it. If you are really concerned about taming it, you should get it "japanese straightend" or chemically straighten. this will enable you to curl it and give you the ability to have a nice sleek look
^chemical straightening will look good for a while but as you get new hair, they will look horrible. I have seen a girl who came to the salon about 8 months after chemical straightening and her hair looked really bad.
If you have curls, you can get a lot of anti-frizz products to manage them. I have curls (not too much) so I usually just put some mousse after taking a shower and leave them as they are.
what kind of anti frizz products hulahoop? Ive been recently using john frieda serum, it has made a slight difference but I still can't leave my hair to dry naturally, as it turns all fluffy, and the waves are no longer defined, therefore I only feel comfortable when I straighten it.
After you take a shower, apply it in your hair. Then blow dry your hair (while consistently combing). OR if you can get a hold of this (see link), you will better be able to manage your hair…
can be used on both. But to reduce frizz (as I mentioned earlier), apply anti-frizz on wet hair and then dry them using this. It will reduce the frizz and make your hair look healthier and shinier.
