Duh, now you guys are telling me. No wonder I have developed a bulky belly. That is it, no bath for me at all from now on.
Re: periods and my grand mother
Not sure but i think there is some truth to this myth. Personally if i take bath on very 1st or 2nd day, my flow decreases to minimum or actually Nill, for the rest of my days. That is the reason i avoid bath at least for the first 2 days unless it is really important to take shower.
Secondly i heared it once on "Doctors" show, when once a lady asked exactly the same question & gave reference of her mother and grand mother. Now i do not exactly remember but I think the doctors in the show suggested to avoid shower in the initial days plus avoid eating cold & sour things.

periods and my grand mother
Have to have shower . Life goes on during periods!!!! Come on ! Imagine going to sch or work all tired, dirty, even stinky after a long day. AND on period. No bath/shower that evening???? Ewww! Have to wash up every day and I think even more when on period! It's unhygienic to not. Especially now that most women are working or schooling. Maybe during grandma's time women were home all day and disnt perspire or something? Didn't do much work during periods and this didn't stink or whatever so thought it ok to not bathe during period.

Just checking... did you see it on TV or the radio.. 30-40 years back, people had this notion. You might have heard it then not now.

Re: periods and my grand mother
I heard the same thing and one of my friend even told me not to work hard or exercise while having periods.** On the other hand I found out that I had less pain if I was moving and working than lying around during my periods.**
Yeah, exercise helps a lot..
I remember our school nurse telling us this too.. We were advised **not **to skip exercise when we were on our periods..
