my periods are 6 days late and im always regular…ive never used pills etc (just other natural forms of contraception in the past) and still getting negative pregnancy tests…we are trying to conceive..have pregnancy symptoms as well…but why are tests still negative?

Most doctors recommend testing two weeks after ovulation, so I guess it depends on when that happens. It could be a false negative. Or it could be that you're late, due to stress or something.

if you see a faint line, keep testing. you might have concieved later on in your cycle than on day 14 and thats why your HCG levels aren't high enough yet to be picked up by the tests. if its a positive, the line will get darker and darker each morning :) try using your first morning urine to test as well as the HCG levels are strongest then.

^ i don't see how that could be...HPT's these days are very sensitive, so if you're pregnant, it'll pick up on it. I took my first test 4 days *before *my period was due and although it was a faint pink line, it was definitely there, and according to my calculations, implantation must just have happened...

well the line is darker today....and everyone is different....just because you had a line 4 days before it doesnt mean everyone will:) implantation happens on different days for different women,...some women have morning sickness etc and others dont....so everyone is different..

I also suggest you leave the tests for about 20 mins as you will have a clearer result. Most of the time (well with me anyway) the lines go darker and easy to read when you go back to read them.

from research ive done its not that uncommon to have negative 2/3 weeks later....but i dont know whether to call them positive or negative...

ps. i also read somewhere that that if its a boy it takes longer for the HCG levels to build up compared to if its a girl....although i dont know how true that is...

really?! i have heard the exact same thing from another lady.....she said her HCG levels were so high that they thought it might be twins but it was actually a girl!....so maybe thats what caused the high HCG levels...:D

It’s not always e case, but it does happen often. That also means that sometimes nausea is worse with girls
