Period Pains. (women only *vivo*)

Hey girls,

Okay so I’ve never ever had period pains, and if I have had any they’re pretty mild ones and I can get rid of em with pain killers. But this time around the pain is really bad, and I feel to just roll into a ball and blehh.

I don’t understand why? What could affect it?

Hey Tulips,
I used to have excruciating cramps when I was younger. As I have gotten a little older, they've gotten better, but I also realized that my diet has a BIG effect on my period. Try this:

Starting about 5 days before you're due, stop consuming any sugar or caffeine---no chocolate, no coffee, maximum one cup of chai per day, no sodas. Also stay away from salt---pickle, chips, etc. Be especially careful to drink plenty of water. Also, try to exercise at least three out of these five days, even if it's only going out for a brisk evening walk.

Months that I exercise and clean up my diet, my period is always much easier and the cramps either very light or non-existent.

Needless to say, you should also see your gyno about any persistent or unusual period pain since there are other conditions that could be causing this----fibroids, etc.

^ Great advice esp' about diet.

Defo' see your gyno' about advice. :)

I used to get them really bad in my teens but going on the pill made them much lighter and a lot less painful.
