Period isn't starting and I'm stressed out!

Hi! I’ve been using an online menstrual calendar for quite a while now to keep track of my cycles.

My second last cycle was on 18th July. My last cycle was on 14th August. I got sick around the 17th of September and had to take a lot of antibiotics and painkillers.
I was supposed to start my period on the 13th of September according to my site’s calculations. It’s been 45 days since my last period, as of today. I’m 21 years old and unmarried.

I wonder if this not starting of the period was due to the antibiotics? :frowning:
I’ve read on other sites that it is possible and does happen to other women. I’ve been to a gynae and they said everything is fine with me and there is no hormone imbalance or the chance of PCOS alhumdulillah and mA.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced this before and what did they do to act against it?

I would be really grateful for any answers. It’s really stressing me out.
I’m getting the tummy cramps and the lower back pain but there’s no blood.

Is there any desi totka/remedies to kind of make my period start?
Thank you loads

Re: Period isn't starting and I'm stressed out!

It's quite common for both stress and illness to halt periods.

You don't need desi totka's, you first need to stop worrying about why it's not starting and then find a way to genuinely relax and rest both mentally and physically.

Re: Period isn't starting and I'm stressed out!

definitely due to the meds and probably stress. just relax and let nature have its way

Re: Period isn't starting and I'm stressed out!

If you've been ill and/or stressed it can happen..

I missed 3 months at the beginning of this year due to that but am totally fine now..

Mention it to your doctor but try not to worry too much..

Re: Period isn't starting and I'm stressed out!

Okay, so I went to my doctor again and she told me that it take time and it'll get better as soon as your immune system gets better and she also said not to eat/drink anything cold. So, for now I'm drinking hot drinks and garam taseer foods.

Re: Period isn't starting and I'm stressed out!

dont worry ! relax urself. i missed my periods for four months straight ! went to gynac (private) n they said m suffering from pcos i have a huge golf ball size cyst n need to b operated only then i cud get my cycle normal ! like any girl i freaked out !! starting crying like a baby lol. but after i spoke to mum, she asked me to calm down n get myself busy shouldnt think abt it n also told me to get my utrasound elsewhere to ensure. just 5 days later i got my periods with a bang n 5th day of my cycle i went for ultrasound their was no cyst !

let nature take its call. relax urself ! ur in a better position than i was :) n pls dun take any medication for false cycle usually gynacs recommend tht.

Re: Period isn’t starting and I’m stressed out!

Hi guys! So, here’s an exciting update.:biggthumb:

I drank ginger tea on the night of the 27th and had chicken biryani (what else to make me feel good). 28th, same story and cupfuls of Ginger Tea and aloo k parathe. I also prayed. 28th, night also had aloo k parathe and, now, alhumdulillah I got my period.

OMG, I am so relieved! It feels good with the cramping put aside. YAY!:nuch:

Re: Period isn't starting and I'm stressed out!

If you are getting cramps then they are about to start. eat a kajoor or two and drink warm milk. That would do the trick for me.

Haha. Cute of you to update that you got ur period. I'm 21 and unmarried too and I didn't get my period for 3 mths this yr. I was very afraid as well but thought it is due to exam stress. I got it at the 4th month and was Soooooo relieved. :)

Re: Period isn't starting and I'm stressed out!

Ginger tea really works wonders for this, also you can use Ginger ale if tea is not available

Re: Period isn't starting and I'm stressed out!

I missed mine too for ten months.. I'm not sure why. I didn't have blood test but I had an ultrasound..

I did do a three month course....
