the two links show the best performer in Pakistan domestic cricket. Funny how HAsan Reza is ignored for so long when he has been the best in Pakistan for 7-8 seasons now. Guys like Hamid and butt and Taufiq with far more inferior records have made it over him. Whats even wose is that he was the only Pakistani batsman to score against Aussie in Sharjah.

Oooye Hasan Raza kay latu forget about him, I know the difference b/w the records but it will take a looooooooooooooooooooooooong time that a player in Pakistani Cricket team will be selected purely on merit.

One days don't count, especially Pak domestic one day competition sucks. Heck I know a guy who went to Pakistan and ended up playing for LCCA in the Wills Cup back in '97/'98.

Proves one thing , u can be a OKAY batsman from Lahore and get in and only a Miandad type can make it from Karachi. So all thos who thing Butt is good we have way better batsman that him sitting in PAksitan and we complain about our batting. how will we ever win if our best batsman are sititng at home doing nothing. Guys who cant average 40 on flat wikcet in Pakistan should not be considered at all.

Performing well in domestic games doesn't neccesarily guarentee you the spot in the national team.
Batsmen like Marcus Trescothick and Michael Clarke have performed average in their domestic teams but have done well at the international level.
Its about technique and mental composure which Hasan Raza clearly lacks.

if Hasan Reza lacked the technique and mental capacity in his last test agains the aussies he would not have hit 50’s in both innings when the entire team collapsed around him for 150. He did not score in the next game and got kicked out. How many games have other guys failed and they are still in there.

I have to agree with this.
And you know what? This system cannot change, because of equal regional balance requirement by PCB’s constitution and mandate.
Hasan Raza is the world record holder for Youngest Player to play his 1st test @ the age of 15. He was good at that time, but no body was willing to chance him due to WAQAR/AKRAM/RASHID/MOIN politics.
According to the generosity of the selectors today’s new comers are getting far better and more chances than Hasan did. Some one in PCB is responsible in screwing up his career like this, and that of few others,

why we see taufeeq/salman/imran/yasir in the team is because they r openers....
middle order batsmen find it difficult to make the team cuz they r up against inzi and yoyo....
and unless u really want to see these two dropped to make way for youngsters like hassan raza there is no use crying for them....

Wonder why Pakistan's prennial batting woes have been exaserbated lately, look no further then the fact that there is not even a single batsman from Karachi in team on the permanent basis.
All of the world class batsmen that Pakistan has produced have been from Karachi. Hanif Mohammad, Zaheer Abbass, Javed Miandad and Saeed Anwar. Basit Ali would have been the latest addition and a true successor to Miandad but unfortunately he was ousted just because he was from Karachi.
And the pattern continues, while pathetic batsmen from Lahore and other places are given chances after chances, be it Imran Nazeer, Saleem Elahi (speaking of Saleem Elahi, his bro Zahoor Elahi, whom I would not even play in the local club that I play for was given the whole '97/'98 Carlton and United series to prove himself), Taufiq Umar, Imran Farhat and etc. etc. to prove themselves, the poor Karachi batsmen are included and axed as soon as they fail to score in one inning.

Its not JUST about Karachittes or something against Punjab/Lahore teams. simply have a look at the current team,
Shoaib Malik is MADE INTO a Batsman,after playing county seasons, Right? (not taking anything away from him).
Shahid Afridi nearly at 200 matches and now we exptect him to bowl 10 overs with runs around 35-40 and 1-3 wickets in his quota! and breeze 30-45 odd.
I am delighted to see Rana and Rao they have actually backed what they did in the domestic season, No one can say a word about which was their local team or...etc
