Re: Performance of Punjab Government
Believe it or not, perfomance of Punjab Government is much better than the other three governments. PML(N) is set to win again in Punjab.
If it happens then 'Jaan de jaan de, sadi bari aan de' kehne walon ka kia hoga.
Re: Performance of Punjab Government
I dont understand the intelligence of khadim e aala, at the moment there is 3 days cng loadshedding in Punjab which is expected to go upto 5-6 days in winter (Dec & Jan) and he is starting CNG buses in the province from 15th of November. If there is no CNG in the province will the buses be stopped or run on Petrol? Besides this will further aggravate the gas shortage. When will the rulers start using their common sense?

Yes if this was for ' Nothing is better than nonsense'. Sindh Govt did nothing during last four yeras except for making poor poorer and creating frustration in unemployed youth. Whenever I visit Lyari or rural Sindh, watching roads I say 'PPP ka wada, road kam khadde ziada'.

Re: Performance of Punjab Government
Not a good performance...........the focus was on running the province like a Union Council Councillor runs his area...........limited to 'naali making' and chhaapay and publicity stunts....... Shahbz shareef doesn't have any vision on how to setup systems and structures.........
BUT.......he did do some good things....as far as lahore is considered.......finished some road projects etc
Accurate analysis !!
Personally I have recently been to Lahore and have to say that Shehbaz Shareef has failed miserably in almost all areas. I mean the city is dirty as hell with heaps of filth all over the place. Every road is "under construction" and will likely stay so for the next year. There is no traffic warden in sight in the entire city and everybody drives as he pleases including going blatantly one-way, overtaking from wrong side. A ride of 10 minutes becomes a torturous journey of 45 minutes. Dacoities are rampant and now even the most safe areas like Faisal Town have dozens of them every week. Some people are even saying that the higher ups in PML-N are getting their share in the loot from dacoities. There is no law enforcement or anything of the sort other than the few stupid "naake" at the entrance of the city where they don't know crap about anything. Even if the evil and corrupt PPP created problems of electricity and other things, Punjab govt. should have worked on some contigency plan like solar power or wind energy, but they simply sat on their butts and blamed the federal govt. There is no concept of decent public transit system and using the one that is available make you feel like you are a third grade citizen.
While shehbaz Sharif may have the best intentions in the world, but overall, Shehbaz Sharif and the punjab government is a complete failure.
Re: Performance of Punjab Government
^ agreed this is what I feel about the current situation of Punjab especially Lahore, as PMLN believes in development of Lahore only.
1) Increase in filth, no solid waste management system in place (No wonder why they cant control dengue)
2) traffic signals off
3) traffic wardens not available, and even if available standing on the side of the road doing nothing
4) dangerous and chaotic traffic, blatant violation of one way roads. I have seen people breaking signals on Mall road which used to be atleast one road in the city where people used to obey the rule
5) increase in the number and volume of dacoities, like each incident concerning millions of rupees
6) roads overall in a bad condition, pot holes all over. During pervaiz Ellahi's time at least one could see the city district governments repairing roads, now the roads remain broken for extended period of times.
7) PHA which is giving all the projects to Ahsan iqbals's brother is also absent
8) Amount of traffic has increased abnormally hence its not possible to go ahead without making a proper master plan of the city keeping in view the projected traffic for the next 20 years
Running a government is different than running a business empire, its a team effort and not a one man show.
Its funny that my brother was standing in some place near Muslim Town more when a van stopped near him, some people jumped out of the vehicle and started spraying anti dengue spray. Another man came out of the vehicle and started filming those people. Within a minute they jumped into the vehicle again and drove off. Maybe they would have shown on the tv that night about their effective anti dengue campaign.
Re: Performance of Punjab Government
^ exactly! at least its heartening to see that other people also think the same way that we do. I spent considerable time in Lahore a couple of years ago, but now I think the situation has deteriorated significantly. Just to give you one small example, in yesterday's newspaper, there was a news that a couple went out in Faisal Town to get their little girl ice cream. When the girl got the ice cream and started eating it, a bullet came from nowhere and hit her. She died in the arms of her mother and her mother fell unconscious while her husband was crying his heart out. I can't imagine that this is the same Faisal Town where I lived for a number of years and where such a thing was unheard of since the creation of Pakistan.
This is just a small example, but gives you a pretty good idea about the condition in Lahore.
One more thing, no offence to anyone intended, but places like SatoKatla and Shahdra have become reaping grounds for the scariest criminals. Among my relatives, many people who have had to suffer dacoities (and trust me there are a lot of them) told me that most of the guys were christians and it is a well known fact that most of them live in shanty towns like SatoKatla and Shahdra. Unfortunately, instead of bringing these places and these people into mainstream, it seems to me that there are roaming around Lahore unchecked and hence the multiplied number of dacoities.
Re: Performance of Punjab Government
^ this government of pmln has been a total flop, thats the reason why people are angry with them, and they blame all their shortcomings to the agencies, ISI and army...
Re: Performance of Punjab Government
its strange that we are in the middle of november now but still dengue is not subsiding, the government had pinned its hopes that the mosquito will due during winter…

Re: Performance of Punjab Government
There was a time that PPP used to be a socialist party. Now PMLN is trying to take up that mantle. It did not learn from the failure of peeli taxi scheme. Instead they again started sasti roti scheme. It failed even more miserably. I am sure it must have resulted in big financial setback for Punjab exchequer.
It is time for PMLN to go. Be it PTI or PMLQ.
Re: Performance of Punjab Government
^ that shows that the government has no vision and ideas as to how they will provide jobs to people!

Exactly, a 10 year kid would have proposed opening up call centers catering to outsourced work, thereyby providing employment for thousands. No vision on providing incentives to create indigenous industries like laptops, solar equipment etc. Just the same old peeli taxi scheme. If this is what they have learned in 20 years then it is so pathetic.
