peoples' posture and gait ?

most everyone’s parents teach them how to sit, walk and run.
sometimes, due to medical conditions, people cannot sit, stand or walk and run in a normal manner.
but with training, the posture and gait can be improved.
physiotherapy helps too. there is a website - spinehealth.com which has medically reviewed info about back support and posture related pain in neck and head.
since most of us use coumputers, i thought i should share it here.
any concerns about posture and gait, share.

Re: peoples' posture and gait ?

bad posture makes you look shorter and fatter and plus it looks naff. if you do yoga/pilates you'll walk better and taller making you appear elegant.

all airy-fairy-light and nice :)

Re: peoples' posture and gait ?

good point. yoga does make one's posture really better.

Re: peoples' posture and gait ?

One should exercise the back and shoulder muscles , do stretches, hmmm..try taking ballet classes and yes , as bookend said... yoga is excellent for making ones posture better...

one can also make posture better while sitting, standing, driving, walking etc.

Re: peoples' posture and gait ?

true.

Re: peoples’ posture and gait ?

good posture is important as it stops other problems. core strength is important to be able to have proper posture and maintain it, which is what yoga will do.

there was a doctor on bbc radio 4 a while ago who specialises in back problems giving people advice. he was describing an exercise that people can do while sitting that strengthens the core muscles that support the spine. but you do end up spending quite a long time in total per day if you do as much as he recommended.

there are also some shoes that becoming quite popular. they have been around for a few years, called MBT’s. They force you to work with correct posture and strengthen the core muscles.
