I don’t think there is any bigger insult to a good name than it belonging to someone who does immoral actions. Probably everyone does immoral acts, but not everyone has good names which are associated with goodness, piety and honesty.
Maybe certain good names should not be allowed to be used as names at all, but should only be bestowed upon as titles once a person has proven himself/herself to be a good moral person.
Muhammad (PBUH) and all 99 names of ALLAH SWT cant be kept separately. they have to be join with some other name as well. (e.g. Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Usman, etc)
otherwise Muhammad (alone) is actually signification of Muhammad (PBUH) and rest is the matter of respect.
This is not really about that teddy bear, or punishing people. I personally think that the teacher in Sudan did not do anything wrong, and that those hordes of people demanding punishment are completely wrong.
Funny, how a mass gathers for the most insignificant things. Am I to assume that a mass gathers in Sudan everyday for Darfur's victims? Probably not.
shafeeq u rehman had also said the same that kids should not have names until ppl can see their personality so a goofy looking kid does not get named shakeel and a girl with no common sense does not get the name of fehmeeda.

Baaz log itnay baakamaal nahin hotay jitna unka naam portray ker rahaa hota hai :D
On a more serious note, I've heard that when a child has been bestowed a "good name" they try to live upto it. Ofcourse that again goes back to argument of what "good" is for that individual.
