This thread is dedicated to people who make this world a better place, please take some time to mention them here and why they deserve our respect. I will start with J.K Rowling, not only is she one of the most brilliant persons but she is beautiful, cultured and classy and can step up to racists, bigots, and bullies and has given a lot of money to help underprivileged.
I am a big fan of these people Ansar happens to be a relative of ours, he is an amazing human being. If only more people appreciated good people then we wouldn’t be in such dire situation as a nation.
The reason I like people like Rowling is because she is supporting people who are widely perceived against them. We don’t have an example of many of our people condemning violence against nonmuslim civilians. When the Jewish teenager was stabbed sleeping inside her home not one of our leaders said it is wrong whereas many Jewish people are standing up in support of Muslims.
Wasn’t it a sadder place when countries were conquered in the name of religion, women raped and enslaved, children turned into slaves and men slaughtered. Wasn’t it sadder when women were deemed as property and did not have the right to vote or when blacks were slaves. It is heart warming for me to see scores of non muslims standing up against muslim ban and sad to see major muslim countries kneeling in front of DT.
Ohh!!! total respects for her, I have witnessed her influence. One of my friend in Eng Uni was the son of the Mohmmand tribes chief and they had brick foundries in Pindi and mostly run by bonded labor, he used to tell me that some of the foundry owners would burn the escapees alive in the brick oven and because of new laws it wasn’t that easy anymore to abuse. Thank you for sharing.
I think deep down , I know that anyone who is a giving, helping individual , they are contributing to making this world a better place. The other day I read about this lady who was stranded along with her baby , she had lost her train ticket and didnt have enough money . A passerby paid her ticket and later she announced in the local newspaper that she wants to find that person and return the money she owed to them and wrote a whole note about how difficult a situation she was in that night .
so yes , those who are famous are doing bigger things . But what we do as individuals is most important coz it goes unnoticed and we do it purely coz we care for humanity.
You are exactly right and this is where I would love for the thread to go is in recognizing the everyday good people. We focus so much on hatred, we are so consumed with anti-Muslim sentiment but fail to see, appreciate and acknowledge the people who are fighting for Muslims human rights. All those people who protested the Mosque violence deserve our respect, everyone marching against Muslim ban deserves our gratitude.
