People who have shopped in NJ for desi clothes

There is this boutique called Khajaana and its deff very high end. They claim that they carry designer outfits, but they NEVER tell you the designer…They never say “this is a Payal Singhal” piece they’ll just keep on saying this is a “designer outfit”. I got quoted $980 for a pure chiffon sari, with MINIMAL bead work on the borders and by minimal I mean..the thickness was less than an inch and it was literally black beads sewed in straight lines. The choli was net and velvet and was pretty basic. The sari itself was rather striking and modern because of the contrast of colors and simplicity, but I don’t think it was designer because they did not specify the designer, and wouldn’t want to spend a grand on a basic/non designer saree. The thing is even a lot of smaller, low end boutiques claim their outfits are designers ( I know THOSE are not for sure) So my question is, is this just a trend to call every piece designer in nj?! Or does khajaana really sell designer pieces?! And no the saree did not have any tags indicating the designer.
