How do you deal with them ? How polite can a person be to tell someone that I am not interested in hearing your boring life stories or adventures of your kids . You are boring , your conversation is boring and I feel like jumping off the cliff. Tell me people how to deal with people suffering with chronic bore-the-heck-out-a-others syndrome ?

Re: People who cannot take a hint.
oh God. i just hear thm out. pretend to be interested
and it makes me sad when they are unable to return the favor even for like a minute
Re: People who cannot take a hint.
If they are chronic story tellers, I get irritated and cut out fast. I dnt like negative people, negativity, etc. Im an optimist and like positive thinkers.
Basically, as soon as I figure out this person is miserable I start making sure my conversations with them are really short. Meaning, Im not rude or mean to them. I just act super busy and dnt let them go in a direction that could lead to a sob story. "Ohmigosh, would you look at the time??? Ive got to wash my hair, do my laundry, clean my bathroom, refill my stapler, blah blah blah".
You only give ppl like that time when you can make time for them. You cant help someone who doesnt want to help themselves so listening doesnt mean you're doing something good for them all the time.
