People who actually live in KSA, question about drifting

Go to Youtube, type in Saudi drifiting and numerous videos of people drifting in and out of traffic, accidents and crazy stunts. All of this while in traffic and others just ignoring them.

What’s the deal? When I live there back in the 80s and 90s, police would stop and even arrest people (almost always local kids) even at the suspicion of dangerous driving. Accelerate too hard, run a red light, weave in and out of traffic, or hard brakes, and out of no where a police car would show up and now your life was in their hands. Of course, there were always exceptions, but seemed like the police was hell bent on using their powers. Not to mention the random police stops to check papers, which I have been told they have stopped doing now.

So what’s going on now? First thing, roads seem really bad, no regular lanes with people just driving all over. Second, other people just completely ignore drifting and go about their business. Third, people are lined up on the side of the road watching the show, and sometimes even getting hurt.

Well if ya notice i am assuming most of them are Saudis doin this. There is no law in Saudia against it. Even if there is a law..the law doesn't apply to these Saudis.

Re: People who actually live in KSA, question about drifting

  1. Police still catches them .
  2. Police do the random checks still but not as much as before.
  3. Some of these are actually arranged unofficially (that's why people are lined up )

Finally I'm only speaking about my city.

Saudis were little corrupt before but they are more now. Time changes.
