People People People!

aai yaai aaai.

For goodness!

Guys any time you submit a resume to any company make sure you bring an extra one with you on day of interview.
I am so shocked with i see people with years of expereince, BS or MS/Mba bringing themselves with no resume. Just because you faxed or emailed a resume make sure you have an extra one with you.

*toba bachey…

Re: People People People!

LOL

maybe they memorise it before going for interview.

Re: People People People!

Nia, don't tell me you don't keep resumes of your interviewees. Looks very bad on the employer. :p

Re: People People People!

Nia you are not picking up your papers from the fax machine :nono3:

Re: People People People!

doesnt matter - we expect a nice resume paper in hand and expect you to show that you are willing to work.

charity mein job nahe milti you got to work for it..

Re: People People People!

yup - a fairly basic expectation...

oyee... impression aap ne jamana hai - employer ne nahi... just the fact that you applied there is reason enough to believe that you perceive the employer worthwhile :)

Re: People People People!

and most people use a better grade paper to print their resumes. So taking the original with you is important because the emailed one or faxed one will be on regular 20 lb photocopy bond......not very impressive looking.

it's a matter of taking pride in the only piece of paper that represents your entire career!

Re: People People People!

Well of course the interviewee is expected to take a few copies of the current resume; however, I'd think the interviewer is klutz to have lost the resume.

Nia, I hope you don't lose it when the interviewee presents you with a copy. :p

Re: People People People!

oh yeah please dont put stupid colonge/perfume on a paper either - when we can smell it was either cool water or romance.

there are some scented papers - and let me tell you that aint getting you a job- uff toba… it was just another crazy day :urgh:

quality paper is expected but main thing as muza has mentioned your entire career is on that piece of paper.

Re: People People People!

scented paper?
what kind of job were they applying for?
what kind of business do you run nia??? huh, huh? c'mon.....do tell!

Re: People People People!

muzna - we are right in heart of manhattan. we have all sort of people who come and try to find a job. We are recuriting agency so we see EVERYTHING.

This ghetto chick walked in with i think cool water all over herself and the resume. too much of anything is not good - don't you think?

Re: People People People!

Perhaps your firm is in need of a fragrance-free policy and inform the prospectives about it.

Re: People People People!

Thats very odd

Whenever I have gone for interviews I NEVER take my resume with me. Infact the company who is interviewing you should have your resume in the first place.

You should know your resume inside out anyway.

Maybe its an American thing to take your CV with you.

Re: People People People!

It's not an American thing Rizwan... I've taken the resume with me whenever interviewing abroad as well... 99% of the time, the interviewers will have a copy on-hand, but just for that 1% of the time they don't, you ought to show them that you came in well prepared in the first place - and you're right about having your resume at your fingertips, but while you highlight something from it, it'd help if the person in front of you had a visual... it enhances their cognitive processing so to say and you increase your chances of putting the point across.
