Firstly, why should ALL muslims go to heaven (I'm sure this is not what you are implying - or is it ? eg including murdurers, rapists etc).

Secondly, there are more people in the world who will not be born into Islam - Christians, Jews and those of other faiths - who will lead immensley pious and 'good' lives - i.e in actions behaving as muslims should but not actually being muslims themselves - and having the absolute conviction in their own faith, using wisdom and logic with the brain that Allah gave them. It is not their fault they were not born muslim - is it ?

What is to become of such people ? Are you saying, with absolute conviction, that they will all go to hell ?? Does it make sense ? After all, Allah created them.

People should not be the judge for others - leave it to Allah - look after yourself.

actually Risky.. i agree with u... i wanted to know the views of GS members..

as i said i was quite suprised to hear that 'only muslims will go to heaven'.. when i was asked bout the muslims who committed sin.. the answer i got was 'they will get punished first but in the end go to heaven'.

ive heard many stories about people who have not been muslims... but cus of their pious behaviour and their love for humanity and the animals have been sent to heaven...

neways.. thanx for ur reply :)

Translation by YUSUFALI: chapter 18

Say: "Shall we tell you of those who lose most in respect of their deeds?-
"Those whose efforts have been wasted in this life, while they thought that they were acquiring good by their works?"

They are those who deny the Signs of their Lord and the fact of their having to meet Him (in the Hereafter): vain will be their works, nor shall We, on the Day of Judgment, give them any weight.

That is their reward, Hell, because they rejected Faith, and took My Signs and My Messengers by way of jest.

As to ** those who believe and work righteous deeds**, they have, for their entertainment, the Gardens of Paradise,

Wherein they shall dwell (for aye): no change will they wish for from them.

Just curious... were these stories printed in The Heavenly Tribune or are they from people who have been to Heaven and have come back to relate these stories? NO ONE knows what heaven is or who is allowed entry other than God. I am sure that these "stories" are no more than interpretations or opinions.

Aisha

Thanks for this. However this is open to interpretation. Messengers could mean any or all of the Prophets, and 'Faith' and 'Signs' could mean anything you'd want them to mean

i think u have misunderstood me (the number one talent in us desis) :) what i was saying is.. i was involved in a discussion with a few friends who seem to be more well read than me (in Islam)... and i was debating with them that all good people will go to heaven.. and they said.. no only muslims will...

thats what prompted me to put this post up... :) nothing else.. and im sure they havent been to heaven and back...

OK so babies continue to be born in households which are Christian, Jewish and a multitude of other non-muslim faiths - all with Allah's knowledge and design. These babies will not be taught the wisdom that you have just quoted - again all with Allah's knowledge. Ultimately, according to your interpretation, they will all perish in hell - all with Allah's for-knowledge as Allah is all knowing, all seeing (the past and future - i.e their destiny was predetermined). Does it make sense ?

Leave the judgement of Allah's people to Allah.

thats right everything is with the knowledge of Allah. now i don't wanna a give a completely Quranic interpretation on this but a more logical one. think about this. if u make a doll house, in which the dolls were robots and could do as they plz, and then u wanted to do something with the good ones as a reward who knew u made them and praised u for it, and wanted to punish the bad ones for not using their head and praising u. and then the bad ones say "thats not fair, u knew i was doing wrong and didn't stop me, but u could have, so it;s ur fault". does that make ne sense at all, u freakin made them, u could do as u damn plz , they should be happy they get ne thing at all, u could have gave a worse punishment to. then u say to them "that if i wanted to stop u i wouldn't have let u do what u want, i would control u like i do the mega robots and have u praise me all day long. i wanted to see who would be smart enough to believ me on their own." Allah thalla(if u believe in him at all) has made all of us and everything around us. if he is even putting those people who sacrifised their lives for the poor and even gave their life for Islam, and i don't care how good, into heaven, it is bc of his mercy. we don't deserve that jannat at all. he's rewarding us for the good stuff, he could have just easily ended us all without ne heaven or hell after everyone he wanted created had died. who r u to question ne thing at all that Allah does? if u truly believe in him. surly he won't cuz he's teh merciful, but for all u know he could change his mind on the day of judgement and put everyone in hell, what then? can u do ne thing against his power. even the whole world together can do nothing against him. but even knowing that if u truly love Allah u will do as he says. hope that helped a little, and sadzzz i don't think the christians and jews of today will get jannath bc they do shirk. they praise Jesus and god knows what else. and as we all know ne gunnah can be forgiven except shirk, unless maybe u convert cuz u didn't know about Islam before. the true christians and jews back then around Huzoor's(sws) time already converted into Islam, cuz they saw the signs and knew he was the prohet the books talked about.

.. there are a lot of muslims who commit shirk as well... they dont praise Hazrat Isa.. but they do things like going to graves of saints.. and praying for them and asking them for help.. going to Peers.. and all sorts of things..

neways i dont think any of us have an answer to this...

thanx for that example... :)
