Was Imam 'Ali born inside Ka’bah?
(Editted translation of an article)
This is talk of the town in our Indo-Pak that Hadhrat ‘Ali radhiyAllahu 'anhu was born in Ka’ba. How much truth is in it. What the background of this story is. A part of this we are going to present from “Jila-al-Ayoun” of Mulla Baqar Majlisi (an Imam of shias). Only a part because this story is so long that our fifteen to twenty pages will be wasted worthlessly. So we become precise to transfer only important parts.
Mulla Baqar writes: “At the time of delivery, mother of ‘Ali was taken to the Holy Ka’ba. She started rubbing / massaging her abdomen against the wall of Ka’ba. The wall split and a door appeared from which a voice came, “O mother of Excellent (superior) ausia (administrators), enter and give birth to your baby”. In short she remained disappeared inside the ka’ba. And after three days she came back home with her born child. Miracles of ‘Ali and his mother while going into ka’ba, coming out, after coming home and matters about what was REVEALED (wahi) upon Hadhrat Fatimah (mother of ‘Ali) and Hadhrat ‘Ali, whosoever wants to learn about this detailed story, should read Jila-al-Ayoun. Insha Allah it will work as antimony for the bright vision giving a cooling effect to eyes and joy of heart. And the curtains of Sabaism dropped before eyes, will all start raising and the eyes will open.
What we are going to prove from this story, a part of that and the outline are as follows:
- "Fatimah bint Asad when reached before ka’ba, she first believed in Allah and in order to have her difficulty made easy, she called out her baby in womb (tawassul of ‘Ali) for mercy. On which the wall of ka’ba split and Fatimah entered.
People tried to open the door (of Ka’bah) and put much effort but they all failed. Till it became the talk of the town amongst the people of Mecca."
This should be kept into mind that the name of ‘Ali’s mother is Fatimah bint Asad. As reported by Mulla Baqar Majlisi she accepted the belief in Allah before the Prophecy of Rasoolullah sallAllahu 'alayhi wasallam, though Quran is proving that all the people of Mecca already believed in Allah, however as for the Prophecy, Fatimah radhiyAllahu 'anha accepted this after the conquest of Mecca. That is why Mulla Baqar Majlisi ignored all about it. Fatimah bint Asad didn’t take the mediation (tawassul) of the Prophet for the mercy of Allah, but she called out her baby for that. If she didn’t do so, how could the Sufis (Saints) have written in their implorations and lists of saintly lines,
“Through the mediation of Ali, the problem solver”, (ma’athAllah).
‘Ali first of everything fulfilled the supplication of her mother and solved the trouble of her womb. If ‘Ali didn’t make this difficulty easy, how he would come into existance, and Fatimah due to prolongation of this period would still remain in trouble.
“This event was so popular that it had become talk of the town amongst the people of Mecca for a long period. But the way Sahabah ridhwanullahe 'alayhim ajma’een concealed the wasiyyah (successorship) and caliphate of ‘Ali, all the people of Mecca buried this event and not a single Arab even gave a clue (hint) of this”.
This is only the generocity of Sabais and Persians that we are familiar with this or else we would merely keep regretting.
- “Fourth day the wall of Ka’ba split once again and Fatimah bint Asad got out. And made a speech before people. The extract of which is that
Allah has granted me (Fatimah bin Asad) the excellence (mastery) over all the creations. And all the women passed before, I have been granted excellence over them as well, even over Aasiyah, the wife of Faroah and Mariyam bint Imran. And the evidence of this is that I have given birth to this baby in ka’ba. And I kept enjoying the foods from heaven in these three days. Hayef-e-Ghaib addressed me saying, Give him the name of ‘Ali, as I am ‘Ali A’la. I have created him from my divine power and glory, granted him the whole of my justice / court, gave him manners of knowledge, entrusted him with all of my jobs and commands, revealed to him all my hidden knowledge. He was born in the Holy Ka’ba. He will be the first to make the call (azaan) for prayers in the ka’ba, will break idols and throw them out of ka’ba. He will be the Imam and Wasi after my Prophet”.
In this text Mulla Baqar Majlisi has described the whole reality of his religion. If I present the details it will require a thick / heavy book. However Ahlus Sunnah should keep some points in their mind:
a. Fatimah bint Asad has been given excellence by God over all the creations, including Prophets and Angels. Fatimah bint Asad is superior to Hadhrat Mariyam and Hadhrat Aasiyah. Therefore Saiyida Nisa-al-‘Aalameen (leader of the women in the worlds) and Saiyida Nisa-al-Jannah (leader of the women in Jannah) is Fatimah bint Asad and not the Fatimah bint Muhammad sallAllahu 'alayhi wasallam. Our sunnis have mistakenly considered the daughter of Holy Prophet sallAllahu 'alayhi wasallam.
b. The God has created Hadhrat ‘Ali from His divine power and glory. This is another thing that ‘Ali has been born out of Fatimah’s womb and Abd Manaf (Abu Talib) [edited] He the almighty named him after His name ‘Ali, transferred him all His work and authority (ahkaam). Now after ‘Ali’s creation there is nothing left for God to do. Now everything is performed by ‘Ali. In this way there are two gods in Islam. One the suspended (ineffective) god and the other the ruling god.
Though during the whole life, the ruling god was dominated by his subordinates.
The God had commanded Fatimah to give him (the baby) the name as ‘Ali but since that God had been suspended and the whole godship had come under the authority of Fatimah and her son, Fatimah didn’t like this name and gave him the name as HAIDER, and this has also been admitted by ‘Ali in his verse:
“My mother has given me the name of Haider”
c. He will be the first to call azaan in the Holy Ka’bah, break idols and throw them out of ka’bah. However first of all Hadhrat Bilal radhiyAllahu 'anhu called azaan in the ka’bah, then the Prophet sallAllahu 'alayhi wasallam appointed Hadhrat Abu Makhzurah radhiyAllahu 'anhu as the Mu’azzan for ka’bah. The idols from ka’bah were thrown out and broken by Saiyidina ‘Umar Farooq radhiyAllahu 'anhu on the command of Prophet sallAllahu 'alayhi wasallam.
d. He will be the imam and wasi after my Prophet. After the lordship (godship) had been granted, what the need was for this lower rank. Despite that other Companions kept becoming Imams for 25 years. And when he (‘Ali) got his imamat no one was ready to accept it, and whatever the imamat was available it was transferred to Banu Umaiyah by his son Hassan radhiyAllahu 'anhu. And since each imam has the right to appoint anyone as his wasi, whether in his life or when dieing, in this respect the third Imam and Wasi was Ameer Ma’aviyah radhiyAllahu 'anhu and he using his right appointed Yazeed as his Wasi and (fourth) Imam.
- When Fatimah got back home, Ameer (‘Ali) greeted his father (Abd Manaf) in these words: “O my father, peace and blessings of God be upon you”. When the Prophet sallAllahu 'alayhi wasallam came, he held the imam in his arms. The imam greeted him also in these words: “Peace and blessings of God be on you, O Messenger of Allah”.
Afterwards the imam recited Surah-al-Mominun by the divine powers of God. The Prophet said: “All the momineen have got salvation because of you”. The imam recited verses till “hum feeha khalidoon”. The Prophet said: “By God you are their king and ruler (ameer) and you supply them with the allowance of knowledge and wisdom”.
Hadhrat Eesa Alayhis Salam talked in his cradel, how come Hadhrat ‘Ali get behind him, he talked as well. And the first verses of Surah Al-Muminoon revealed to him even before the Prophecy of Prophet Muhammad. Because in these verses dignity of Momineen is being described and there is no Momin on earth except these Tabarraites.
Because of Hadhrat ‘Ali all Momineen have been granted salvation immediately on the first day. Now they are free to do anything.
Those verses are as follows:
-
Successful indeed are the believers.
-
Those who offer their Salât (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness.
-
And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allâh has forbidden).
-
And those who pay the Zakât .
-
And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts)
-
Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame;
-
But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors;
But since salvation had been rewarded in the very beginning therefore whether momineen talk during salah (prayers), or adopt the leisure of Tabarra and Taqiyyah, or deny paying Zakah or satisfy their lust performing Mut’ah with those other than their wives or handmaids, everything is not only allowed but deserves reward also.
However the problem is that in the last verse, it has been stated clearly that “The very people are rebellious”, now what we can say more.
The last sentence of this paragraph is that “you provide them with the allowance of knowledge and wisdom”, though this is the dignity and virtue of Holy Prophet sallAllahu 'alayhi wasallam in Quran.
“And the Prophet educates them with the Book and wisdom and purifies them”.
In this way this status of the Prophet sallAllahu 'alayhi wasallam was usurped to give ‘Ali. This all is happening due to the birth in the then Idol-Temple.
- Afterwards the Prophet says to Fatimah, “Go and convey the good news to his uncle, Hamzah”. Fatimah replied, “If I go who will feed him with milk?”. The Prophet said, “I will satisfy him”. The Prophet put his tongue into the mouth of imam (‘Ali) which yielded twelve springs (fountains)”.
That is why this day is called “Yaum-at-tarviyah”.
Yaumat tarviyah is the 8th day of Zulhijjah. This day the people of Mecca set out for Arafat in order to perform hajj.
Fatimah bint Asad had come back home just after the birth of baby (‘Ali). It was the first day of maternity. Though the mother doesn’t leave her bed upto many days after delivery. But she was sent out to call Hamzah. I am too much surprised that a maternity of just a day was sent out to call Hamzah and Abd Manaf (Abu Talib) kept strutting indoors. And then there was not only Hamzah amongst uncles. Abu Lahab and ‘Abbas were also there. Well the hostility towards ‘Abbas can be a reason as his descendents were about to get caliphate later but what the fault of Abu Lahab was.
And Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah should remember that Yahood (jews) had 12 tribes and there erupted 12 springs (fountains) for them at the place of “Tiyah”, as they couldn’t drink water together at a single / common place. And in the mouth of imam ‘Ali there erupted 12 springs also and then there came 12 imams.
Isn’t this a clear proof that Sabaism is the photocopy (duplicate) of Judaism (israelites)
And the way 12 tribes of jews remained hostile to each other, the descendents of Hadhrat ‘Ali afterwards kept the same rivalry amongst themselves.
- Fatimah when returned, saw a light spread from the sky to earth. She wrapped the baby (‘Ali) with a cloth, when the imam tore it up by the grace of divine powers and took his hands out of the cloth. Fatimah brought a strong cloth and wrapped the imam with it, the imam tore it as well. Then Fatimah brought six layers of Deeba (brocade) and put leather packing over that, but the imam once again tore it up and then said, “Let my hands free, so that I will implore god and praise Him”.
In short the imam was left alone.
There wouldn’t be any other sad day for Abd Manaf as this. The man who had not been able to fill the stomach of his children. The burden to bring up a New Baby and then the Baby tore up all the cloth of the house the time he came, poor Abd Manaf would be so disappointed.
Probably for the same reason there hasn’t been any role of him presented in this story. He must have been embarrassed by this Haunted Baby.
-
On the second day, the Prophet came to Abu Talib’s house. He held the imam in his arms. Imam greeted him and requested to drink “the springs”. On this Fatimah laughed saying, “By God, imam has recognised the Prophet”.
That is why the day was called “Arfah”. -
On the third day it was 10th of Zulhijjah. Abu Talib asked the people, “Join the VALIMA ceremony of my son”. And he slaughtered 300 camels, 1000 cows and sheep and invited all the people of Mecca, and made an annoucement that “whoever wants to attend the valimah of my son, should perform Tawaaf of Holy Ka’bah seven times and come to greet my son”.
That is the reason why Yaumun Nahr (day of slaughter) is deemed honourable and regarded as Eid, and sacrificing animals was prescribed the same day.
Isn’t this story enough to open the eyes of Muslim Ummah? That in this paragraph how the dignity and excellence of Hadhrat Ibraheem Alayhis Salam, Hadhrat Ismaeel Alayhis Salam and Hadhrat Hajrah Alayhis Salam have been robbed.
But we surely have the right to ask this question to the comrades of Mulla Baqar Majlisi that since Valimah falls after marriage, Who this Baby of 3 days was married to.
Will you please narrate the story of the doll
And if it means Aqiqah, then first of all aqiqah is not termed as valimah. Then the hair of baby is cleared in this and this takes place on the 7th day.
In fact in his (Majlisi’s) sight was to destroy the Memories of Hadhrat Ibraheem, Hadhrat Ismaeel and Hadhrat Hajrah alayhimus salam.
And in this plot he even forgot that Abu Talib was penniless. Where he got those so many camels and cows from.
And then before this, the author of “Jila-al-Ayoun” writes on page 238, vol. 1, that imam was born on Friday, Rajjab 13. In this respect sacrifice should take place on Rajjab 15 and 15th of Rajjab should be called Yaumun Nahr, 14th of Rajjab should be Yaum-al-Arfah and 13th of Rajjab should be Yaumat Tarviyah.
Now only these Saba’ites can better tell which of the sayings of their Mujtahid is true and which false.
If really ‘Ali was born on Rajjab 13, then this story should be said Good-Bye.
Now watch the real purpose of this story.
- The Prophet loved imam (‘Ali) so much the he kept his cradle close to his bed, washed him and bathe, dropped milk or 12 springs into his mouth (from his tongue), rocked his cradle when he fell asleep, talked to him when he was awoke, embraced him and said, “This is my brother, my wali, my helper and successor of my testaments". The Prophet then was only 30. He took him to mountains, woods and mountain passes of Meccah and gave him the knowledge and secrets of God.
(jila-al-ayoun, page 248-251)
It should be noted that according to Mulla Baqar, this event occurred 10 years before the Prophecy. What the knowledge and secrets of God were at that time which the Prophet gave ‘Ali. Obviously this knowledge had nothing to do with Quran and Sunnah, and probably this is why traditional saints regard it as an apparent knowledge which works as a shell or cover and that is why they always preferred deserts as compared to public colonies.
As it is mentioned before (point 6) that the Prophet came to Abu Talib’s house, these words are proving that the Prophet sallAllahu 'alayhi wasallam lived separately and he should have been so. Hadhrat Khadeejah radhiyAllahu 'anha was her wife, how could he treat Hadhrat ‘Ali like that.
There is only one possibility that on the second or third day of Hadhrat ‘Ali’s birth, he might have taken ‘Ali to his house. There is no other probability. And in this case, it should be accepted that because of his straitened circumstances, Abu Talib couldn’t even keep his infant baby with him which exposes the real situation.
Suppose Hadhrat ‘Ali radhiyAllahu 'anhu was born in Ka’bah then what the pride is in that. Those days Ka’bah was an Idol-Temple though it’s name was ka’bah. This is nothing to be proud of. Rather this is shamelessness and impudence that a woman (Imam’s mother) should go in public for delivery. Whatever the appearacne of Ka’bah might be at that time, all the people of Meccah often gathered there and held meetings.
Who really born in Ka’bah
This is only a silly talk and Saba’ite Tale. There is only one person called Hakeem radhiyAllahu 'anhu bin Hazam born in Ka’bah. He was two years older than the Holy Prophet sallAllahu 'alayhi wasallam and inspired by Zaid bin 'Umro bin Nafil (a unitarian / moah’hid of Meccah before Islam), so he hated worshipping idols since childhood.
Even the author of “Kitab-al-Majr” who himself was a tafdeeli shi’ah, writes about the birth of only Hakeem radhiyAllahu 'anhu in Ka’bah.
Imam Nawawi writes in the Sharh (interpretation) of Muslim:
“Hakeem bin Hazam radhiyAllahu 'anhu is a Companion. One of his virtues is that he was born in Ka’bah. Some scholars hold the view that no one else except him shares this excellent status. One speciality of his biography is that he had passed sixty years in the time of ignorance and the same time in Islam. He died in 54 hijrah in Medinah”.
This Hakeem bin Hazam radhiyAllahu 'anhu was the cousin of Hadhrat Khadeejah radhiyAllahu 'anha from her uncle and one of the fellows of Prophet sallAllahu 'alayhi wasallam in his childhood.
‘Allamah Shibli No’maani writes in his “Seerat-un-Nabi”, volume 1, page 167:
“The son of the paternal uncle of Hadhrat Khadeejah radhiyAllahu 'anha, was a very noble lord of Quraysh. He was one of the close friends of Prophet sallAllahu 'alayhi wasallam. He was responsible for the place of Rafadah in Haram. He owned Darun Nadwah as well”.
Majoos (Magi) have fabricated many hundred thousands traditions about Hadhrat ‘Ali radhiyAllahu 'anhu and his progeny.
According to Imam Hammaad bin Zayd (taba’ taba’ee) their number is 300,000 (three hundred thousand). At the same they also did one more thing that whenever they saw any excellence of a companion, attributed that to Hadhrat ‘Ali and made it popular.
Allah and His Messenger sallAllahu 'alayhi wasallam granted the title of “Siddeeq” to Hadhrat Abu Bakr radhiyAllahu 'anhu but this Saba’ite Gang, falsely attributed this title to Hadhrat ‘Ali radhiyAllahu 'anhu:
“I am Siddeeq-e-Akbar, whoelse claims of this is a Kafir”.
And the consequences of such nonsense / obscenity is that Hadhrat ‘Ali’s personality has been coated and concealed by them. And it has been difficult to find out what the saying of Hadhrat ‘Ali is and what has been attributed supposedly to him. In this way Ummah was not only deprived of the correct knowledge of Hadhrat ‘Ali radhiyAllahu 'anhu but it has also been hard to recognise what his character was. What his virtues were and what his practises were. What qualities he owned.
Even Muhadditheen Taba’een had to decide that
“All the companions of Hadhrat ‘Ali radhiyAllahu 'anhu were Liers”.
And Imam Muhammad bin Sereen needed to say that
“All the traditions narrated from Hadhrat ‘Ali radhiyAllahu 'anhu are Batil (false)”.
Taba’een has made this verdict on the basis of such false traditions. And if today someone claims that he can present the life or hadiths of Hadhrat ‘Ali radhiyAllahu 'anhu correctly then he couldn’t do that without polluting himself with this mud.
Neither Hadhrat ‘Ali radhiyAllahu 'anhu is to be blame nor Taba’een or anyone else. But all the responsibility goes to Saba’ite Gang, which has mutilated the personality and qualities of Hadhrat ‘Ali radhiyAllahu 'anhu.
