no idea:( shoorryyyyyyyyyy

Brother, taraveeh is a nafil prayer though a “highly” recommended one because of sawab being too high in Ramadan.

Taraveeh was not a regular thing in Prophet Mohammed :saw: time, he might have offered taraveeh alone on regular basis but not “jamaat” basis. It was regulated by Hazrat Umar RA I believe.

taraweeh is NOT nafl. taraweeh is Sunnat-e-muakada (a greatly stressed Sunnah, deliberate omission of which is a sin).

edit: Taraweeh is a maximum of 20 raka’ats.

thx DT:)

penalty for committing a sin is pretty obvious isn’t it?

smilly: no problem :flower1:…

…adding to DT, every good deed we do in ramazaan is multiplied by 70,
any namaz offered with jamat is multipled by 28(? correct me)

so one nafil * 28(?) * 70 = you get ]

to lose it is byself a penalty no ?

now it is, i’m history then :teary1:

and the reason why Prophet Mohammed PBUH didn't regulate it himself regularly is?

**Praise be to Allaah.

If a Muslim does not pray Taraaweeh, there is no sin on him for that, whether he has an excuse or not, because it is not obligatory. Rather it is a confirmed Sunnah which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did regularly and encouraged the Muslims to do as he said: “Whoever prays qiyaam in Ramadaan out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 37; Muslim, 760.

But the Muslim should not neglect Taraaweeh prayer. If he cannot pray it with the imam in the mosque, then he should pray it at home. If he cannot pray eleven rak’ahs then he should pray as much as he can, even if it is only two rak’ahs, then he should pray Witr.

And Allaah knows best.**

no one is obliged to pray taraweeh....
if u do observe the prayer, its for ur own good....
otherwise there is no penalty for missing it, either intentionally or unintentionally....
its the intentional missing of the 'fardh' prayers that will get u in deep trouble....

hmmm as far as i know taraweeh is not farz and there is no punishment for missing taraweeh

in relation to the above 2 reponses my irem and armughal. i have been told thatif u miss namaaz-e-tarawee intentionally ( jan bhogh kar) then ur following days rooza isn't accepted. sahi kai ghalt

highly doubtful.

you wouldnt get that from any credible source.
