Pen marks and walls

How do you take care of them. My artist daughter (younger one) thinks that all the walls are her canvas (at least she used to think like that :D). My best option was to retouch that spot with fresh paint. Do you guys have any other suggestions?

Re: Pen marks and walls

I don’t have kids…but I can tell you what my dad did…he gave me a sponge and soapy water to clean it all up :bummer:

never drew on the walls again :cb:

Re: Pen marks and walls

Ballpoints are hard to remove.

Washable markers, no probs.

Permanent markers, hard to remove.

Crayons, use magic eraser sponge.

SO yeah, paint is good!

Re: Pen marks and walls

The problem with that solution is that my daughter would love it. She loves to help her mom clean but becuase she does not know what she is doing, she ends up generating bigger mess. Very soon you will find spilled dirty water, torn pieces of kitchen towel all over the floor.

Re: Pen marks and walls

awwwww…that is cute :cb:

Well…I was dead scared of my dad…so I dared not make any mess and get into more trouble…ofcoz I got a spanking before the sponge and soapy water :hinna: (that was how things were done those days)

Re: Pen marks and walls

oh believe me I know. I got so much of spanking from my mom in my lilfe that its not even funny.

One day she threw a show at me, i dodged and the shoe hit the glass showcase right behind me and broke the glass.

Yes, I got beating for dodging the shoe then

Re: Pen marks and walls

:rotfl: I can imagine that to be true :cb:

My dad didn’t throw things at me..he just had a very long thin cane at home..and it was hung on a nail in the living room - HUGE warning for me to not do anything nutty…but ofcoz I did…I always got a caning on each of my palms without fail…one shot on each..and if I pulled my hand away..I would get and extra shot!!!

Re: Pen marks and walls

we have to move this thread from household to parenting .. and rename it to ‘abusive parenting’

Re: Pen marks and walls

^LOL yesss....I dnt think I could spank my future kids...I spank my cats and then I give them kisses and carry them around like babies!!

Re: Pen marks and walls

You spank your cats  .. that is so wrong, poor poor kitties .. o man :frowning:

Re: Pen marks and walls

^wellll…they chewed through my router wire!!! and they like play with their food..and play with their WATER..which always makes a mess in my living room…and it is just a tiny spank :@: if not it is the water spraying bottle thingy..when they see that they run and hide :cb:

Re: Pen marks and walls

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. You can find it at your local grocery store. That's what I used to remove stubborn marks off my classroom wall. You wet it...and you will have to apply some force....hopefully it'll work. Try that.

Re: Pen marks and walls

Oohps, didn't read that you already used that. So, did it work on the pen marks for you? Another strategy I read was rubbing alcohol.

I know that if you get a pen mark on your clothes...you can get it out by applying hairspray....letting it set for a few moments...and then washing the fabric under cold water. You may have to repeat it a few times, but it's always worked for me. I don't know if the hairspray would work on the wall.

Re: Pen marks and walls

Paint ure walls with that paint...i dont know the proper name for it... But basically its designed for houses with kids.... Kids can write on them with whatever... And it comes right off with a warm wet cloth. My frienD painted her toddler's bedroom wallas with it.... And then the rest of e house too :d... Course u gotta teach the kid that not all walls are to be painted on.... Though it definately adds personal touch in the child's bedroom

Man gone r the days when one look from ure dad would be enough to scare u out of doing anything wrong.... We never wrote on the walls... Ammi would have swallowed us alive!

Re: Pen marks and walls

are you my sister by any chance, cause it looked like you just described my mom :hmmm:

Re: Pen marks and walls

This.

You can also stick brown wrapping paper on the walls. She can draw on them all she wants, and it's easily replaceable. You can double up the sheets if you're worried about the marker seeping through the paper onto the walls.
